When I heard Jen start to discourage her embroidered hand it honestly broke my heart because I remember explaining my art in front of other people and I totally almost started to cry because I definitely felt like I could do much better then what I created but everyone else reassured me that it was really cool and I have a gift. I feel like every artist/ person in general goes through this stage, whatever they’re trying to improve on, I know almost everyone goes through this. I understand ur in. A bad place rn girl, if you need to take a longer break that’s okay. And I want you to know that the art you made in this video is not as bad as you think. Your valid and your emotions are valid. I know it’s easier said then done but try to stay positive girl. ✌️Much love to you.

I saw someone on tiktok just printing out the image he wanted to emboider and then make all the stitches with the paper on top of the shirt and then later soaking off the paper with water! I thought this was very smart, because you won't have loose threads and you will have a perfect embroidery

For the future, I would recommend using a water-soluable stabilizer instead of the regular tear-away. You won’t have to worry about loosening stitches because it will essentially dissolve under water.

Seam ripper for WHEN you mess up haha (speaking from experience, textile artist). It makes an inevitable, miserable situation a lot better- I’d consider them essential! They come in every cheap sewing kit and you can get them on their own for like a dollar too. Also Jen, yeah there’s a huge global crisis right now but it still does NOT diminish the importance of your mental health!!! We care about you and your wellbeing no matter what. Keep doing what’s right for you & we’ll always be here!

Hi! I've been doing embroidery for over a year and I love it. If you are looking for a better way to draw out patterns rather than chalk or pencil, I totally recommend "Onwon" brand, heat erasable pens. Like $7 gets you four colors with a lot of refills, and you erase them with a hairdryer or something. I know online shopping isn't the best idea right now but keep it in mind

This video really shows your creative process and talent off imo! Specifically with the jacket. I like that you jumped in with the free hand side and even though you weren't mclovin' it you kept going and showed us a different approach for the other hand. I believe this is a key part in artistic growth, and a part of the process that doesn't get acknowledged often enough! You are doing an amazing job!!
