I heal immediately after them to prove no damage later. - Mandarins' screams do not deal damage. Bosses' screams deal damage if you get stunned. - In the results screen you will see "Total Damage You Received: 1". The reason for that is because Maria's screams count in that statistic (1 for every scream) even if you don't take damage by staying out of range. In this run, I had one scream in phase one. It's a bug in the current version, not sure if they will ever fix it. It might be the same for other bosses' screams. I try to heal after defeating Maria as proof of no damage. *GENERAL NOTES:* - For every puzzle involving codes, I made sure to not use forward knowledge and do the steps to figure out the code before using it. I kind of show environmental hints for most of the puzzle solutions as well. - There are several notes and texts in the environment that do not count as collectibles. I interacted with some of them. - I chose to use minimal interface for a more cinematic experience.

i thought shooting pyramid head in the mask does no damage cuz the shots bounce off. but i see you shooting them in the double boss fight.

@@Brandon_Y.it deals damage. Not sure if less than body shots but you don’t waste precious time aiming which is important in the fight to not put yourself in a bad spot.

Liked it and fantastic work as always, but probably going to wait for Patalog on this one. Unlike the REs where I prefer more of a speedrun, SH2 is the kind of game I want to see a slower experience taking it all in.

This one isn't a speedrun at all. I take it slowly, check a lot of optional interactions and etc. But I also made sure I was decently efficient with my route to ensure a good pace and it's a real playthrough with no editing. I balance fighting and running past enemies like one should in a survival horror game.

@@Aether2125 No offense meant I think it's a fantastic run through it's just this is one of the few games I'd rather have a slow pace vs good pace personally. Like at the first apartment complex there's so much minutia in the details the developers added even just to the notes on the notice board in the entrance way or the graffiti on the walls that I could watch someone spend 10 minutes there alone just pointing out clutter. lol

@ I get it, just wanted to clarify it’s not a speedrun or a rushed playthrough in any capacity. It’s for the ones who want to enjoy the story but also with a good pace. There are a lot of optional notes that can be just for Easter egg or not substantial or redundant information. I pretty much focused on the things relevant for the main story and all collectibles officially considered by the game.

I was such a hardcore OG fanboy that raved when this was announced, but the more i watch this remake the more i appreciate it. Yeah sure there are some visual and scene changes I'm not crazy about, but all in all this remake really moved the game closer to a very emotional game throughout, whereas the original was very subtle and made you think what was real and not. The script and voice acting are very solid throughout, not to mention the push to a more explorative gameplay experience. Very very close to being as good as the original, and that was believed to be a near impossible feat.

When's the best time to dodge Abstract Daddy's first roar because I see you do two dodges after reloading the auto save

There’s no timing because you can’t dodge it. All you can do is get out of range. I don’t dodge away in regular runs, just use a rifle shot immediately. Only on “melee only” you have no choice but timing a restart checkpoint to delay his scream and moving out of the way fast enough.

Trying this now, but switches "no saves" with "no gun". The whole run has been a breeze and Im at the showers in Toluca prison and after taking the Heavy Weight from the wall its just hopeless. Tried for an hour of strats but start thinking this is an impossible run. Showers are overpopulated with enemies and no room to evade. Evading a nurse pipe then get trapped in acid spray and a mannequin arm is just.. disheartening. Im no quitter but.. I had enough 😅

From what I've seen the dodge mechanic in Silent Hill 2 is better than in Resident Evil 3 remake. It's kind of hard to pull off a perfect dodge in RE3R because of timing, while I find it hilariously awesome that when you dodge in Silent Hill 2 you have invincibility frames no matter how the enemies attack you.
