Booster Sloop doesn't have to ataco myself, you just attack with that in play to do the thing. Raceways lands can use it to cast Ginger brute, so... it can be used.

About Boosted Sloop (agree, awesome name); Yes it is ofcourse way worse than smuggler's copter on all axes you said, BUT the "whenever" you attack does trigger on your other creatures attacking, so you can put the Sloop down and get a loot of of it right away!

I wasn’t sold on this set before today, but start your engines turns me off even more. Tacky name, slow mechanic, another thing to track. Between that and the UB flood this year, it may be time for me to take a break from standard and just play limited on the sets I like. That said, I’ll still keep up with it on your channel. Best standard content around! Just wish I was less bummed about the future of the format.

I'm not into this set or the Western one either and that's okay. Wizards is hemorrhaging Magic sets out at such an reckless pace that having one you don't like here and there is going to happen and there have been some real great sets too. That's just how mainstream media is made these days, you have to sift through the chaff and focus on the things you enjoy.

So something I realize about the Amonkhet raceway. Since the vast majority of decks aren't going to have a way to deal damage to the opponent turn 1, it seems the card is best played turn 2 if you haven't gotten to speed 1 yet, and only after getting to max speed otherwise.

I love these videos! Im interested in trying out exhaust deck there is so many cool cards already that care about activated abilities. Like training grounds, the cauldron, enigma jewel and tyvar. There is also tazri and Agatha that would be interesting to try out. Omenhawker too I guess as a mana dork at 1.

Will say with boosted sloop you can use it as an enchantment. Using it to discard a card and draw a card each of your attack steps. Probably be good with the Niv that’s in standard. And jeski cycling might be a deck again.

Rakdos artifacts/vehicles/sacrifice might be a real thing in standard. I think that Chandra is extremely and deceptively powerful. Rakdos sacrifice has already been on the edge of viability, so here's to hoping we can get a new deck out of this archetype.

I have a big question on how “start your engine” works. Specifically when do you start increasing speed tokens and if you can disrupt your opponent speed. Can you start gaining speed turn one with like a desert land or do you HAVE to wait until you play a “start your engine” card before you can start gaining speed by damaging your opponent life? If you only have one “start your engine” card on the field and it gets removed do you lose all your speed and have to start over or is it a permanent thing on the field.

Repurposing Bay is pod for artifacts, not tinker. Is Pod for artifacts good in 2025? Idk, but that's the direction of shenanigans that might exist with it, I imagine. If you can get some chains of untapping or whatever, might be able to make it work, but 2 on every activation (compared to 1 and 2 life) is a big deal.

I think Hazoret May Change Red It Triggers Valiant With Its Ability To Make A Creature Unblockable. Also Monstrous Rage Would Be OP with it. Sure its a bit slow, but mabye people will try it, causing their decks to slow down a bit, giving a fighting chance to other decks eho folded instantly to the RDW. Start your engines is a bit slow but, with red it shouldnt be that hard to go to max speed Also Hazoret Is Technically Invincible to Black, Cut down and Go for the throat cant touch it.... Hope it see's play

Yean nah not digging anything in this set. I may hate everything about it. Even the logo. Granted it can be not a winner cause of the quicker release cycle, but I can also just ignore it and there'll be a new one soon. Usually find releases are too fast but it helps when you don't vibe with it.
