I wanted to be a chaplain but I didn’t get. I added Chaplain assistant to my job sheet. I had no idea Chaplain Assistant would be more on the side of protecting the Chaplain. God knew what I was meant for and lead me away from that goal. Now I’m enlisted and can finish my schooling, as I grow further in my faith, and knock out those educational requirements.

Shalom brother, thank you for sharing this. I'm in seminary now pursuing military chaplaincy. I am more leaning towards the army because of how I understand their chaplains to function, but my endorser says the Air Force is changing, and many videos I've seen seem to reflect this. Anyhow, I am wondering if I can chat with you for some insight and guidance? I cannot seem to touch base with an Air Force recruiter in this Covid dilemma.

Good evening Chaplain, In the Air Force Chaplain requirements it states “2 years of Pastoral experience”. Does that mean any form of Pastor, or does that mean any active preaching for two years after Ordination? Thank you for your time Sir and have a great evening. SSgt Aaron Barrick.

This is great info and great encouragement! I got saved recently in BMT and felt the call to ministry in Tech School watching one of my mentors preach for the first time. I'm looking into chaplaincy right now. Nobody seems to know the answer to this question. Does the 2 years of pastoral experience have to be after the MDiv or can it be during the degree? What I mean is can a pastor who earned a MDiv while already a pastor use his experience he already has to meet this requirement?
@ChaplainRollyson4 жыл бұрын
For active duty chaplaincy, t's supposed to be after earning the MDiv. However, if you are part of a denomination that does not require an MDiv to be a minister, you can ask your endorser to write a letter stating that, and the board will take that into account. If you would like a more detailed answer, or if you have any other questions, email me at 1845jc@gmail.com.

I went to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. It was a great experience. Most Christian seminaries and colleges have distance learning now, it really depends on what you want to study.
@echo99274 жыл бұрын
@@ChaplainRollyson How does distance learning factor into the education requirements? For example, I know the Navy requires 2/3rds of the MDiv to be done in residence at a seminary. Does having experience in ministry affect that 2/3rds rule?
