AFC Ajax u10 dribbling II

Another great technical dribbling from the famous Dutch academy to help the players become dominant in the 1v1/1v2 situation.
The players dribble quickly at the first cone before performing a stepover/scissors then accelerates to the second cone where he performs maradona/roulette and accelerates away again.
Notice the finer points of the exercise: first, notice the short, quick touches the dribbler takes as he approaches the first cone. Everyone time his right foot comes forward it touches the ball. Also notice the exit touch. It is into space which allows the player to accelerate away.
I have been fortunate to visit the Ajax academy several times and I am always impressed with the high level of technical ability and comfort with the ball by even their youngest players. These players are under 10 and notice how smooth, clean quick and confident they are. It is easy to see they have been doing exercises like week in and week out since the day they entered the academy.
