I just installed mine last night. As soon as I removed the stock intake tube/MAF the spring clip went flying. It took me 15 minutes,, a vise and vise grips to get open enough to get back into place. Other than that setback it was a very easy install thanks to this vid!!

why is there a noise of the engine running throughout the whole video... even though i hope during your installation you guys actually had the engine off... this just gives the impression that you should leave the engine running.

Per AFE's dyno tests, it only adds measurable HP and TQ gains at high (3,000+) RPM. Our average TDI customer is looking for fuel mileage gains, which this intake delivers. If you're hell bent for leather on a race ride, maybe a 140HP stock vehicle isn't the best starting choice. If you want to get a little bit of reduced turbo lag and make improved fuel mileage safely (even with an oiled filter) then buy it. If you don't want to, we're not forcing you to.

many thanks anyway guys, ive bodged a budget cone filter straight onto the intake maf sensor. and pushed the breather into the base of the filter (nearest the maf sensor). makes osme mad induction noises could ideally do with a remap to suit the enormous amounts of air its now sucking in! and possibly something too prevent the turbo surge.

Using just this intake by itself is fine. Custom tuning like that done by Malone or a power module from Diesel Power or Bully Dog will only improve the overall result.

Hey i have a 2012 Seat Leon 1.6 tdi CR 105bhp with the exact same air intake lay out what do i need to buy to put on a air intake?? just a tube to attach to the maf sensor? thank you

Been a week now, and my 2015 Passat TDI SE is getting 6-8+mpg from where it was. When it was brand new, 53mpg on the freeway at 76mph on cruise control. right before bolting this on, 49mpg. Going 66mph I got 60+mpg. and a bit less at 78mph. And I can feel the kick around town. I'm getting the mod Chip next. Gotta save though, as it $600+ . get this intake!

This shouldn't void your warranty, but we still recommend you check with your local VW dealership first to see how they are going to act towards you installing this performance aftermarket part.
