It's rather simple actually. "Affect" is the cause/reason, and "effect" is the result. Or expressed differently, the doing and the done

@@SundayBlues555 Did you ever finish it? I just did it took me 2 months. I know, I know that's a lot of time, but as a full time worker, teenager, and Dude, that's fast. I bet all these people who got through all 118 videos in t 3 days learned nothing. I've written notes and practiced this on my own. David is the best teacher I've ever had Hands Down! Justin Out!

I'm still kinda confused
@OnionKnight5418 жыл бұрын
Yup, it's a confusing thing. I think it is easier to understand when to use "effect," with an "e," than when to use "affect." Here are some examples of EFFECT: "What EFFECT does the moon have on the ocean?" "Climate Change is one of the EFFECTS of carbon pollution in the Earth's atmosphere." Notice here, by the way, that "EFFECTS" is the plural of EFFECT. There could be one EFFECT or multiple EFFECTS. Another example: "That is a cool EFFECT you put on that image." Now, for "AFFECT," with an "a," you can make sentences that *sound similar* to the above usages... For examples, "The moon AFFECTS the ocean." "Why doesn't the medication AFFECT other parts of the body?" It's easy to think to yourself, "All these sentences sound the same, so how could I know which __FFECT to use?" But put them side by side. Let's start with A-FFECT. "The moon AFFECTS the ocean." "The ocean is AFFECTED by the moon." Those make it seem like the moon is doing something to the ocean, which sounds like what a verb might do, so we use the verb version, which is with an "a," AFFECT. Now look at EFFECT. This is the version that does what a noun might do. "Stephan Hawking has a cool EFFECT on his voice." If you read closely, the EFFECT is just a cool thing, and a thing is a noun. Similarly, "What EFFECT does caffeine have on blood vessels?" If you ask yourself, is it a thing or is it an action, you'll get a better sense of whether to use EFFECT or AFFECT, respectively.

I see the psychology term affect alot these days. Its less accurate to call it "personality" than to call it "emotion". Like "The affective response to seeing DJT talk about the wall is strong for many Americans." (okay bad sentence but u get the point).

PLEASE GIVE ATTENTION because the most important thing that should have been in the video, drives all confusion away,makes this whole video like useless and the simplest solution is that when you get confused which one to use use the word......" IMPACT"........... it suits both............ ps : no shortcut with me to distinguish the words when reading,i just avoid those...!!!

Or is it based on the title 'Affect vs. Effect' so there's that strange noise that stops usually when he stops talking?

Well, the title is actually 'affect vs Effect'* without the period. *That's the title without ''.
