Just a side note, you dont need a mask layer, you can paint on the gradient layer same thing you did with mask layer.

Would help if you would quickly explain why a blend mode applied to a gradient layer works the way it does. Rather than just tell viewers "what to do", it would help them remember the technique better if the "why do it this way" and "how this works" is explained. Thanks.

Very good thanks for sharing, my only comment instead of clicking off the layer to see where your gradient is, drop the opacity of the gradient layer and you can then see through the gradient layer and position the gradient sliders instantly,
