Too many women see themselves as rescuers. You can’t change people. Ever. No one is obliged to fix anyone. Soft skills teaching this should be mandatory in high schools. Girls should be taught what is abusive behaviour so they never confuse it with love.

The Emergency Services were complete idiots. Anyone suffering a sustained beating is not going to look like someone who suffered accidental injuries through falling. This is a classic, tragic, empath and malignant narcissist case. Narcissists are always on the lookout for empaths, and unfortunately empaths have a need to “save” people from themselves. This is such a sad case, I feel for her poor parents having to live without her, but with the knowledge of her suffering.

2nd case, the wife would not have had a claim on his inheritance if they divorced before he received it as, at that point, it was an expectation and not a fact. The child support would be calculated separately and to a formula. She would have received a healthy sum from the division of their jointly held assets upon divorce and this would be taken into account when calculations were made. I believe he murdered her motivated more by jealousy and rage than a financial motive. I hope life imprisonment meant that but since it's the UK, he was likely to be out in no time at all. RIP Nadine.

I can't be the only person speaking up with some questions. The police only had suppositions and painted a picture on theory only. They literally assumed he killed his wife because they found a pair of handcuffs. I kept waiting to hear they'd had the cuffs tested for dna, but nothing. They literally had nothing putting him in that bathroom and a theory that he killed his wife because of a divorce. The "confession" so to speak is often encouraged because of hopeful leniency and may not even be true. Sorry, but this feels like police getting tunnel vision and not doing due diligence. I gotta say I don't feel right about the Alan Philips case. He may have actually killed his wife but I don't feel the police did nearly enough to prove anything.
