I would like to propose Timex Waterbury Chronograph as the best affordable alternative for any reverse panda dial chronographs out there. Date, chronograph, 100M water resistance, screw-down crown, reverse panda dial, all for the official price of $189. Bumped into it via online ads and was lucky to have pulled the trigger and buy one instantly, because they sold out in a couple of days after launch just like the Timex Waterbury Legacy Day Date. On the other hand, if you fancy a traditional panda dial, definitely try Seiko's SSC813/SSC911.

How about the Sieko Speed timer? Great looking watch also and its a dead ringer for the Rolex Daytona!

@@infinitekronos See that I mentioned SSC813/SSC911. These are Speedtimers. I've owned both and now I settle with the bigger dial and lumes of 911. And yes they are great Daytona alternatives.

Yeah what book? They have a rich history. Glad they did the comparison as a big fan of the JLC polaris line I have to recommend Alpina for enthusiasts on a budget, I don't own many modern Alpina from the Citizen ownership era but I really love their modern designs & the quality is competitive.

I have a small Cambridge I imported from the UK... a bit dressier than I realized, but very nice. It came with a black strap that I thought was too formal so I restrapped with a nice deep tan to dress it down. ⌚

That Accurist is awesome, but the price puts it waaaaay above the new Edifice Casioak, which is amazingly well built for 110 EUROs. I held that one and the PRX Quartz side by side and let me tell you - the Casioak is gives even the the PRX a run for it's money. Also, Tiffany dials - you guys know Casio has recently released a Rolex-ish, fluted bezel , day-complication model, right? And there's even a green-dial version, alongside the older blue and black dial versions, all for under 50 EUROs.

I've got Tissot seastar pro 2000 and it's fantastic. My first sort of proper watch outside g shocks and other quartz watches. It is quite chunky but wears itself on the wrist rather nicely, not a dresswatch mind.

I'm curious about your opinion on Henry Archer. They appear to be a relatively new micro brand, and I've been seeing a lot of ads for them on social media lately. At first, I thought they were probably just another garbage all talk and no substance "we take out the middleman" watch company, but after looking at their website, it appears that they are using quality automatic movements and materials. Their dive watches, for instance, use a Miyota 9039, are built from 316L stainless steel, sapphire crystal with front and back AR coating, ceramic bezel, BGW9 lume, and have a water resistance up to 200 meters. All of that for only around $500. I'm just curious if you've ever checked them out. I wonder what your opinion of them is.
@jpdemer5
@jpdemer5 Жыл бұрын
Sounds legit, but there are dozens of similar microbrands at similar price points. When choosing from among their offerings, I think it comes down to the looks of the watch. I do like the narrower bezels (e.g. Bell & Ross, Blancpain), which Archer gives you for a reasonable price.

LPA33X has the most potential to do more than X100. ETH and BTC will most likely do a X5-X6, but that's fine for me. Gotta look for better entry points while I stake IRIS and PGEN, then wait for Polygen's next raise as I also look at their new partnership with Kenzo Ventures.

The Deepsea and Seastar 2000 is a bizarre comparison. The Seastar is a cheaper Omega Planet ocean, and the dial gradient is more like their Deepsea rip off Ultradeep (not that many people have seen that even though it was announced nearly a year ago!)! You had to get a Rolex bash in there somewhere though I guess 😜

Well, I have a small collection of Rotary watches. Couldn’t give a flying toss if they are homages or complete ripoffs. At that price point, they are good enough for me. I also have a Traser, which is a good alternative to Luminox and various other watches where I have bought the components and either make them myself or have them made for me. I guess I just am not one for brand boasting or status showoffs. I buy what I like. I’ve even bought off of Ebay and charity websites for between £15 to £50+. BTW I do own a Speedy and I definitely didn’t buy it for a status symbol.

I take pleasure in finding a watch that excels in areas important to me at the lowest possible price point. I did find a bright yellow Luminox reminiscent of older models for just $210, which I found too good to pass up, it actually replaced one I had to pawn many years ago. I just hope it's not a counterfeit, lol.
