Another excellent video. That looks like a nice knife for a low price, but, like you, I'm cautious when it comes to coated or blued knives for food prep. Do you guys ever use folding knives? An episode with folders would be fun. Keep up the great work, you have a truly fabulous channel! Oh, yeah, I want a cap!!

Thanks so much!🙏 you will be joining the cap lottery 🤘. Yeah we have a couple of EDC folders. We both use our Spyderco most of the times. We take that idea with us for a future episode 👍 cheers!

Please take me in the lottery for the Cap again. I need it. Maybe you have the possibility to test a Victorinox knife. I like their multifunctional knives but have no experience with the fix blade knifes of them. For example the Outdoor Master. Keep on with your great channel.

@@Circa1664 I got the Dune, and was wary of such a light duty sheath it came with. I had recently purchased the DBK bush craft knife from BPS, and the sheath it came with was way too loose. So my solution was to buy the sheath only option from BPS made for the mora garberg for approximately $ 30 Canadian. Will easily fit the knives and I’ll repurpose the other sheaths
@Circa1664Ай бұрын
@@ericwalker3459 Nice idea. I have the BPS HK5 and Adventurer and their sheaths have held up great. Might have to do what you did at some point.

Do you think this one is better quality than the B1 you tested?
@westcoastbushcrafters2 ай бұрын
We really like the shape of the B1 and the grind of it. The handle scales moved a bit of the b1. That was a pity but not a problem. That we did not have with the Dusk. Need to have both knives in front of us to give you a proper answer 👍
@davidbakker-wester113Ай бұрын
Don't use the jumping on firesteel! Use the part between jimping and the wood of the handle. This gives better sparks with less damage to the firsteel.
@westcoastbushcraftersАй бұрын
Sounds good! We have seen it leaves some grooves in the firesteel. We do that next time👍

@Edgunsuk that is the last thing you want to happen in the forest indeed. Just a curious question: what is your opinion about puukko knives in that regard?
@EdgunsukАй бұрын
@@westcoastbushcrafters pukko knives are not built for stabbing , there is no need for it in their general use with gloved hands ( i got one for christmas last year from the wife lol) a pukko is not a general bushcraft knife as we know it + it is almost always acompanied by an axe .I have the same problem with the bushlore knife by ray mears no finger choile so you cant push with it and that thing is £600 with a three year waiting list and is still only £25 in materials.
