hey! just stumbled on this video while searching for the lightbulb reviews. i have a question though, what if i install these lights in my ceiling lights (they have switches, usually turn on the switch then the lights turn on) but does my smart light turn on if i turn on the switch? or it can only work through devices?

Hey there, yes the wall switch will still be the master switch, it opens and closes the electric circuit. Therefore you need to leave the switch in the On position if you want ur smart bulbs to be always connected to ur phone :) Hope this helps!

Do you need a Google Nest (or any other Google smart nest speaker) to connect these bulbs to the Google Home? Or you can just connect this light alone? (without having any other smart devices)

You can still use these bulbs as an ordinary bulb, but to access the functions, you need to use the App. You don't need the Google home or nest speaker.

Hiya, bought the bulb thanks to your recommendation but I can't seem to get it working with Google Home app. It keeps saying I need a Google Home assistant device such as Nest to pair it with the bulb. When I click 'add new device' it doesn't show me the bulb like it did for you? Any help?

I got the s1 and recently bought the m2 e14 bulb the one shaped like a pill. Im under the impression that all yeelight bulb can be controled using one app yeelight app and not needing any hub and some sorts. I got the s1 bulb for many years now and having no problem. Now i got this m2 bulb the add device is easy and the app saw the bulb without missing a beat and paired it without any problem i also got the blinking of success. But app still say that the bulb is offline. Do you know any fix for this since you are chinese and a reviewer you should somehow know a solution. Thank you. I dont think the 2 m2 bulbs that i bought is defective because clearly the app and bulb are understanding each other but its still offline and i cant control it let alone integrate it with my alexa

No hub needed, I didnt use one at all (as u can see from the video) only the use of my phone

@@ShawnKoh ended up exchanging them for W3, as Yeelight support reported that you needed to have a Google nest, like a Speaker or other physical device other than your phone. The W3's work great tho.

Hi. I messed up because one of the lights wasnt responding after the set up was Ok so I decided to "Forget the Device" thinking I was going to reinstall it and never recognized it again. Ended up deleting my home set up entirely and now trying to create a new Home profile to control the lights now it does not find any of the 4 lights. Help please

well, like I already said in the video, this bulb doesn't connect to the yeelight app. You can only use it with the google home app.
