Not to reign no your excellent review, but apparently it's false marketing by Ballistic Armor Co. They import from Denmark, but the Dane company imports these helmets from China apparently. Blue Jean Operator did a review and found out based on the color of the ballistic material. It works, but Ballistic Armor should have been more upfront with that.

@@PilotPatriot while I won’t knock a product I’ve never used, it seems silly to me that someone would mount NVG’s which are terribly expensive to a budget helmet, I personally have a Team Wendy SL which I got for $1000 new (great deal) that is extremely light and well known, I didn’t have to worry as much about the protection of my noggin as their reputation (for helmets not politics) is great. Just my opinion for what it’s worth.

Regardless of our opinions, the helmet being shot has compromised balistic materials. .44 planted right in the middle of X3 through holes, on the sides both rounds were right next to the arc rail through holes.. Idk the particular NIJ standard specification but imagine the testing is performed prior to the optional manufacturing (#/holes). All I'm saying is, in order to thoroughly evaluate this product, a set of metrics should be employed, e.g., the correct molding clay should have been articulated to represent the user's head, a limited number of rounds per caliber, standar load velocities per caliber, shot placement, etc.. This clay would have been the material that determines back face deformation per the acceptance criterion used for realization to conformity. Over all, awesome video! Thanks for taking the time to smoke a lid, couldn't say I'd do te same with my CP Airframe. You're doing God's work, thank you sir!

These look very similar to Protection Group Denmark helmets. They're designed in Denmark and produced somewhere in Europe, presumably eastern Europe. I'll take that over questionable Chinese junk any day. I love my PGD helmet. I take it back, the PGD helmet does a muuuuuch better job against the 10mm and 44 mag, not near as much back deformation as this one.

Helmets are primarily for shrapnel and minor ballistic protection. Being pistol caliber resistant is a byproduct. If you aren't expecting to be mortared and shelled like a paratrooper in Bastone, or are receiving rifle fire, bump is just as good.

Ballistic armor is messing their customers over. They have gained a ton of 1 start negative reviews. They have a management problem and have done a great job blame shifting and not taking responsibility for their failures. The blame lies with them and them alone. They are selling helmets on their site that they don't have and typically a website will list the item out of stock until they get more in. Not ballistic armor. They are continuing to sell helmets that they don't have and then they blame everyone else for the months long delays that eventually result in demanded refunds. It's clear to me that their finances are out of control and these people have no idea how to run a business. I ended up buying a ballistic armor helmet off ebay used after months and months of contradictory excuses from ballistic armor!

I've been hearing alot of comments like that lately. It unfortunate because I have been very happy with the product and there customer service and turn times were amazing at the time I posted this video. I'd want to recommend this company because the helmet is great...but if something doesn't change I won't be able to promote it any longer.

@@PilotPatriot Well, as I said they have blame shifting excuses and they contradict their excuses. I can supply emails if you want privately. I'm pretty sure I saved them. One thing they say is they have mentions on their website but that's still not right. When a product is out, it should be listed as out of stock. They aren't doing that. They are continuing to sell gen II helmets they don't have. And it isn't a supply chain issue either. they are not managing their finances correctly. They are trying to make sales to buy more product and thats not how its done. Ive been in business for over 40 years. Ive seen this very thing happen over and over again with businesses and they are ruining their business. I agree their gen II helmets are nice. I do like them a lot. But they need to get their act together. As I told them, the story of fanta soda is a harrowing one and despite everything, the guy made it work and was a huge success. With NO excuses. They need to either get someone who knows how to handle finances and get their money in order, or they will in the end go out of business.

I don't totally disagree with you, rifle rated would be great, but 3A not worth buying ???? what if the gun pointed at you is not a rifle...wouldn't it be nice to have the 3A helmet LOL? The only helmets I personally know of that are rifle rated are from Chase Tactical’s lvl 3 ballistic helmets and they run just over $3,000..I’m sure everyone who has any interest in ballistic gear would much rather have a nij lvl 3 rated helmet over the much more common nij lvl 3A rated helmets.unfortunately, the average person struggles to spend $1,000+ on the top notch lvl 3A helmets from the top brands (Ops-Core,Team Wendy,Crye, etc).most can’t even fathom dropping 3 times as much on the lvl 3 helmets from Chase Tactical..there is a big market for more budget friendly gear, this is why Botach sells so many Longfri ballistic helmets at $200 a pop, older US military MICH helmets for $100-$200 on EBay,the Guard Dog FAST for $350-$400,the AR500 Protector helmet from Armored Republic for $400,the HHV ATE for $500-$550,etc,etc..all of these budget friendly lvl 3A helmets are far better than nothing at all.a head shot from a little .22 or a .25 can easily send your corpse straight to the morgue.pistol calibers like .380ACP,9mm,.40S&W,10mm,.357,.45ACP,.44,etc,etc are among the most popular ammo in the USA.pistols are used in shootings in the USA far more than rifles and shotguns combined.this is why lvl 3A armor is what law enforcement officers regularly wear while lvl 4 armor is either stashed in a kit in the truck of their cruiser or it is used exclusively by SWAT teams..plus,pistol caliber carbines have become extremely popular as well plus companies like Henry have been making lever action rifles for many years that use pistol caliber ammo.just about everyone makes ARs in pistol caliber variants.the CZ Scorpion variants are insanely popular.then you have PCCs like the Kel-Tec Sub-2000,Sig Sauer MPX,Ruger PC,KRISS Vector,Beretta CX4 Storm and even the extremely budget friendly Hi-Point PCCs are all quite popular as well.AK-9s have steadily gained popularity in recent years..hell,Citadel even sells a M1 carbine in 9mm.I hope one of these days in the not too distant future, rifle rated helmets will become more common and much more affordable but until that happens, most of us are gonna have to make due with what is available to us...PS..according to the US Military, they use lvl 3A helmets that are more so used for protection against the much more likely event of shrapnel from an explosion and blunt force impacts than for stopping a bullet.I know,it sounds pretty crazy,I don’t know if this is the truth or if its just a cop out to save time and/or money but this is what they say
