We are a 6 figure income couple and had very little saved and not much cash lying around the preverbal". '...don't have $500 for an emergency" that was us. The big thing was debt all kinds of it, cars mortgage (although our home isn't a high price one), student loans for our kids, and of course credit cards. One day we just got sick of being broke and went total scorched earth and became frugal overnight. Paid it all off, it took almost 5 years but now we have no debt and this year our savings rate is 50% on basically the same income that had us perpetually broke. So for us it is mainly staying out of debt and watching our spending, at first it was a real effort to save in our HISA and 401Ks but now it's actually fun watching our money grow. No car or vacation or neighborhood is worth being broke or financially unstable.

Jan, my favorite towel ever is Ikea's waffle towel. So thin, but so thirsty! And dries so fast that it doesnt get stinky. The washcloth is a little bigger so i can grab the opposite corners to scrub my back, even with my old, sore shoulders. Also, they have a loop for hanging! I hate those polyester microfiber ones!

FYI Jan & others. I use & love SOAP NUTS / ECO NUTS for laundry . One box lasted me over 2 years ! They last lots longer that the directions even says ! Took about 6 in one little muslim bag to Tahiti on my 18 day retreat & shared with my Bungalow mate there. Still had plenty of use left after that trip. Nothing else needed exceot my wool dryer balls & few drops of essential oils ! No toxins for me .

I use baby receiving blankets for towels. You can wrap it around your head to dry your hair, then squeeze it out and dry your body with it. Back in the mobile unit, I hang it over my center curtain rod, and it drys very quickly.

Not sure how well the peppermint oil will do. We have a candy jar that is always filled with York peppermint Pattie’s on our side board. This spring I found all these chewed up wrappers and lots of mouse poop! They loved them.

I really liked the looks of the fireplace, I didn't realize it was that small. I have a Mr Buddy heater but it can overpower the van so quickly so having something smaller, with an ambiance to boot, would be perfect. Also, the mouse deterrent. They run through the layers of my roof, drives me crazy and have yet to find anything that works.

I camped years ago in CO, NM, AZ and UT for two weeks in a truck camper with three men, a great uncle, husband and a brother. Some years later I camped in a tent with a husband, a 9 y/o son and 7 y/o daughter. We camped for two weeks in SD, WY, MT, MN. I have been handicapped since I was 23 months old, I am now 75-1/2 y/o.
