Remember, all these low-buck "digital night vision" units are basically a digital camera w/ the IR blocking filter removed; they are absolutely dependent upon external illumination in true dark environments. That being said, in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king, so having something like this if who/what you're observing does not is hella advantageous. Just think of it as a stop gap until you can save up for real NV and/or thermal...

My 11 year old self wants these. My 13 year old self wants these. My 16 year old self wants these. My 20 year old self wants these. My 25 year old self wants these. I'll stop there, because... That's cool. I wonder how much of that is electronics board that could be vertically placed so as to mount on a head-band or helmet? Still, I want one of those, gonna have to check the beer fund.

this would be kinda cool to have. i still have a night owl gen 1 from big 5. about 25 yrs old. works like total crap but makes a great conversation piece. and paper weight
