It's looking good Jelle, big changes in a short period of time!!

:) Indeed. Time will tell how it responds (Not that I am too concerned, but mistakes do happen). Thx Nigel!

That is EXACTLY what I wanted out of my Christmas tree Challenge!! I used my twin trunk Dwarf Alberta Spruce! It had a rough winter so I'm leaving it to grow this season. I don't have wire so I will likely use guy-wires, or string Haha! Great video!

That is awesome! Glad it worked out!

Really good result for the initial styling. Spruces are tough trees to work and make them look good.

Thank you! Cheers! I am so excited about second wiring in winter!

Brilliant tie-down method - been struggling with this in the past! Quite like the secondary trunk on the main tree. Very old growth looking.

Very happy you got this out of the video! Been struggling as to leave it in or not. But to me these little tricks make a difference when learning!

Thank you for sharing this video about wiring. I'm going to attempt my yew this afternoon because this was so helpful.

My Picea is still weak from its repotting and is hardly putting out new growth. So I wont be doing anything to it this year but watering and hoping it will grow. Love your version of the tree, can't wait for next years update!

IF it remains with me for that long. I am thinning out my collection and some of the trees will be moving on!

Thank you so much! So would you say I should do a second wiring on my yew from the first video?

@@GrowingBonsai I’m a student, anything would help me! Maybe with more accent on the styling rather than on how to apply, when, and why?

Did one of these last year with a double trunk and it’s coming on well this year they don’t look there best after until they start to fill out and ramification takes place, I like you wire method for tying down the tree I have used similar on pots with only one hole, the yew is coming on well. Thank you for the video.

Hi Jelle, very nice tree. My little Christmastree was too dry in winter. It loosed all the old needles. Bad. What kind of substrate is the red one and where do you buy this? I saw such a substrate at a company which is producing plants for green roofs. - And off course, a nice cat. Best regards

Hi Andres, the orange stuff is either Seramis or Diatomous earth/Molar Clay (The Linda Moler kitty litter is pure molar clay)

I love your videos mate but you can start spruce bonsai for much less, especially at Christmas 😊
@GrowingBonsai7 ай бұрын
Sorry to say but.. Around here 18 euro for a spruce with rootball established in a pot is a pretty god deal.

Nice spruce ! I liked to have a Little bit more branches in the back, in the emty Space between the two trunks. But it’s only my taste! Can you Link my 50€ Video to your list! I can‘t find it! Thx! Werner

What would you recommend for a first time bonsai in uk weather? Kinda cold and always wet here. I like red maples, yews, junipers and stuff that fruits also
@GrowingBonsai Жыл бұрын
Elms and yews should be really easy to grow in your climate, as would hawthorn!
@dkstott29 Жыл бұрын
Aside from the height, the tree looked fine to me without witing. Just my humble perspective. 😊👍
