TWO DIFFERENT THINGS....Vox stomplab 2g is better when it comes to the sound of the effects... bt that doesn't have so much features lyk the drum patterns.... rhythm channels.....loopers.... patches... nd all the stuff zoomg1xon can do... if u just want effects and sound... go for vox stomplab 2g....

One thing that strike me after owning the Zoom is that the input is very bright, almost like a treble booster always there. I think that if you roll your guitar tone knob halfway with the Zoom it will be way closer to the vox and the amp it simulates.

Em relação à recursos, interfaces e possibilidades a zoom é bem melhor. Mas a qualidade dos timbres. Eu comprei uma vox e pela primeira vez na vida consegui tirar o som que eu gostaria da minha Stratocaster. A vox tem um brilho fantástico. O som limpo dela é suave demais. É lindo.

There's a wrong comparison here. Zoom's mesa boogie mk was compared to the vox's mesa boogie dual rectifier when zoom also has a dual rectifier which is the BG DRIVE.

Weird, I really preferred the Vox for the 'dirty' tones, but the Zoom did seem slightly clearer sounding on the clean tones. Maybe an EQ adjustment would fix that?

pud354 ive heard people connect it to an eq pedal right after and tweak the rest there. Apparently you can get much better sounds that way.

Good comparison and nice playing - thank you. I think I prefer the clean tones of the Zoom but the Vox easily wins with it’s drive tones. The Zoom emulation of a Mesa made me feel slightly bilious. 🙂

If you rearrange some of the filters and such with the Zoom, you can eliminate a lot of the noises people here are complaining about. The pedal is also adjustable. If things ever go wonkey you can always do a factory reset, though you will also lose you custom settings if you reset the unit. I also like using the Zoom with keyboards.

It would be redundant to use the cab sim when you're already plugging into a cab. It is a much fairer comparison between the two units with the cab being the constant variable...

No probs man. Yeah I turned it off and dialed all the presets from scratch. Things will definitely get trickier with the cabs sims, tweaking those things to get a good tone will take some time and experimentation. What you're monitoring through will play a big role as well.

I just bought the Zoom for my 15 year old son, to be honest some of the FXes sound very digital (if that makes any sense) but my son loves it, and the reason that I bought it was so that he would keep an intrest in playing his guitar during the summer, and for 56 euros it was money well spent .

The Zoom has more mid. You can EQ either of these to duplicate. I have the Zoom and there is so much in that box that you can find any sound you want.

@@marythompson5381 Yes. I have a Strat-acoustic guitar and I've been tempted to just use that because with chorus, reverb and distortion it sounds a lot like my electric. I bought a second pedal for reverb and delay on my vocals live.

I owned a Zoom MS50g v3 and a Vox Stomplab 1g and both suck.., sound terrible. Must say that the Vox sounded much better than the Zoom.

With the zoom, I can arrange all the effects in any order that I want and edit all the parameters of them. The zoom has a large selection of effects. The interface on the vox looks annoying to use. Does the vox let you do all that with the effects?

The zoom is much better in that way, it's very easy to use. With the Vox you don't have those possibilities that you have on zoom, but is much in better sound quality...(...but the sound quality is very poor on both, must say...) .

There seems to be a lot more definition and depth to the vox amp sims. I went with the zoom because I really just wanted a looper + effects cuz I love my distortion pedal (ibanez tube king) and amps (monoprice 5w, laney clone) natural tone

Vox sounds less boxy but isnt as user friendly (subjective) and is apparently plagued by enough failures for it to be something to take into consideration, based on Amazon reviews. Which sucks because I dont think I would own the zoom based on how it sounds in this review and the Vox is apparently not built very well.

Which one to choose ? - I think almost everyone agree : Vox has better tones (especially distorded ones) - but Zoom is more ergonomic (LCD panel, buttons layers...) and have (basic) looper and drum beats I could use...

VOX is famous for their gritty and grungy low-end and it is very evident in this demo. The Zoom couldn't hold a candle to it. VOX for the win! (I might be biased because I own the Stomplab 2G and love it!) 😁

Had the Stomplab and there was a very plastic quality about its tones that were nothing like the amazing Tonelab ST/EX. I now own a Zoom G1 Four and it blows away everything in its price range, and others more expensive.

Lembrando que isso é ligado no amp. Eu ta tive uma tonelab, e na linha ele era bem ruim, a não ser que tenha tido uma boa evoluçao no processador pra usar em linha. A Zoom por outro lado é bem melhor em linha do que a mina tonelab, as simulação do ms59 é muito boa (e da pra tocar um metal tranquilho com um booster), a do mesa, nem tanto; então é importante saer oq vc esta procurando.

I have just bought a new Vox stomplab IIG; when I put it in chain with a Crybaby wha and a volume pedal, it comes out a noisy twistle from the cabinets; it doesn't happen when I connect only the pedalboard. Somebody could explain how to solve the problem (everything is powered by a multiple connector that goes in the Visual sound 1 spot adapter)

Its really annoying to see all the cry babies whine about the Stomplab lack of intuitiveness. Its a less than $100 multieffects that gives you everything the higher end Vox amps have in terms of amp modeling and effects pedals. It just takes a bit of time to learn the ins and outs of the pedal and you've got an extremely versatile pedal the size of a book that runs off of batteries if you need it to. What is there not to like?

Do either of these models do freeze/hold effects (like the EHX Freeze pedal)??? Any feedback is appreciated... I'm looking to add a multi fx to my live board so I can: a. put it in the fx loop and have access to heaps of stuff b. peel it off the board and have a fly rig with presets that cover (on a fly rig quality scale) all of my live board sounds ...New idea for me... I own a Zoom G1Xon but I admit, I like the sound of the Vox in this video better. But seemed to me like mids in the Zoom were cranked up a little too high in this video. In any case, Zoom's looper is priceless and that alone beats the VOX imo. Even though it's only 30 seconds.

I've have the g1, g1XNext and G2.1U. I checked out the specs on the more expensive units like the Guitar G3X and see that the main processing is all just about the same. I've had these for many years and never had a problem. I llike how zoom decided the ability to use the 2 delays and the reverb together. Can't complain about the prices. I've had 3 other brand names and they all took a dump by the 3rd year.

I use the vox for about 7..8 years....can t compare it eith nothing 10x more expensive!!! There are very useful tutorials to obtain exceptional sounds of it !!! Along with a wahwah pedal it dounds amazing( I have the one with no pedal)
