This is the best review I've seen done. Thanks, Blunty. Panasonic should thank you, too, because I think you may have sold a camera for them.

I do believe that's going on my shopping list! I'm new into the whole documenting and video editing scene, so this'll be a perfect tool for learning, if this review is anything to judge by. Thanks for a clear, thorough, and very informational review on a piece of equipment I'd otherwise have missed. Stay classy, Blunty.

I can't recall ever watching a review before this where the product in question was referred to as "this little bugger" - I loved it though! One of the best reviews I've seen. As for 'the little bugger', I would probably only use it indoors for recording vlogs and music covers with a separate microphone so it looks like it'll do the job fine. Cheers Blunty :)

Did you test the 540p iFrame mode. Apparently this mode uses 28Mbps compared to 17 in 1080i so it is far less compressed albeit lower res.

Does that viewfinder wing-thing on the side swivel around completely, so it can be used as a monitor to work to for watching one's gestures and body language when presenting a video? I suppose if it does it means the wire is always being spun around, subject to stress, and could eventually loosen up the contacts inside? Great video review, anyhow. ;)

is it just me or when your doing the comparison with the iphone at ~ 7:58 the fence looks more white on the iphone side, yet 3 seconds later a similar shot shows the panasonic with the white fence, in the vid you say the i phone spits out a "warmer" image so i am guessing the white is from the panasonic (and yes i know i am probably nitpicking your vid)

Good review, I've just bought this to replace my Panasonic MiniDV Tape camcorder after years of faithful service the head drum has finally seen better days, these digital camcorders are very nice, going from 30x optical zoom on my old minidv to 42x is amazing, plus mini dv res was tiny compared to this new one.
@daddytech12 жыл бұрын
i LOVE that you are a camera nerd that's largely the reason i watch most of your videos, the video is great on this but the mic's sound a bit tiny out doors. so it tells me that it picks up ambient noise. seems though that this is the only real down side to this cam. wondering if there is another option that is better with audio for just a little more greenery lifted from your wallet. I have the same clubish meat hands issue lol makes making fine adjustments while shooting a little tricky too

Hey Blunty. Have you tried using this camera (which is so light and small) on one of the stabilizers that you reviewed, the Syl-3000? Because I'm thinking about getting both, but I'm not sure if a really light camera will work with a stabilizer at all. Thanks dude and awesome review!

Excellent, Useful and informativ Video......Can you recommend a reasonably priced Editing programme for PC that can deal with the AVCHD format. The writer programme that came with the CamCorder is basically just that...with a very average editing programme that makes it impossible to use due to the 'jerky' movement of the Video playback......regards....Dave

Excellent review! I have a question though, can I control that macro mode you mentioned while recording? Because one very annoying thing that I've found in many cameras is that you actually can't control that when you already pressed the red button and have to stick to the previously set up focus mode. Thanks so much for this, it's really helpfull

What type of starter gear would you recommend for someone who is trying to get into the film/ tv industry?
