I would put a screen at the end of your fuel vent tube to keep bugs out of the tank. Also like your idea of throttle on the left side of the seat or standard push-pull on the dash by the primer is where it would make sense. Whatever is ergonomic, intuitive, and reliable. Thanks for sharing your build. p.s. your muffler mount definitely needs to be isolated and I'm sure your engine has a ground cable as it is isolated.

Hey terry love the videos in snowmobiles mufflers like that are held tight to a curved braket with a wrap around spring simple and works good

----GREAT VIDEO---- Very good explanation for us beginners, these series of videos are extremely helpful and encouraging because this type of project is almost taboo in the sense that the average person can not do this and to the contrary you have really made this a GREAT EXAMPLE OF YOU CAN DO IT👍🏼 Appreciate your videos! Curious your flying experience and thoughts for new pilots like my 52yr old self lol

Thank you for your interest and inquiry, I do have about 98% of my PP training completed, however the Affordaplane is not hard to fly. I would recommend some duel ultralight training and tail wheel time before attempting your first solo, depending on your ability it should not take too long to acquire the necessary skills.

Terry. I used black max brakes for my revelation. I would suggest getting a shutoff valve from the suppler. It allows you to locks the braked for and hands free for run up.

look to 18 wheeler big rig shops, they have round pipes all the way to 12" on custom pipes, many are stainless & you should find something to work

I live in Orange and I would love to see this plane once you have it completed. I'd love to take you out for a meal and pick your brain a bit.

For your muffler bracket. Go to a wood fireplace shop. You could find a perfect bracket there.

Have you tried tractor supply or similar stores for the exhaust thing?

I really enjoy your videos Terry. Question, do you have any video from the beginning when you would be laying out the fuselage and starting your project?

SPECTACULAR CAMERA WORK!!! I have 3 comments...When I ran a Rotax 503, they wanted the fuel pump to be mounted horizontal to the carbs(not vertical as you have). Granted, this is not a rotax, and perhaps it does not matter on your application. Just for giggles, I would e-mail a photo (showing engine and firewall-mount fuel pump) to your distributor and get verification of this...2.) I did not see a sump-drain of any kind(maybe I missed it) As you likely know,fuel contamination kills more engines and pilots than ANY single mechanical issue...3) Seriously consider moving your fuel-supply lines OUTSIDE the cockpit area (run under floor,with shut-off protruding into cockpit deck area.4) yeah, I know, I said 3 comments...but ,on all my homebuilts, I soldered every connection end(vibrations play hell with crimped areas(as well as corrosion...and we all know about Houston humidity!)...I should apologize I guess, I am NOT being unduly critical, but my A&P,I.A. years have made me really aware of certain things..You have a FANTASTIC build!!!! Many people are lookingforward to the completion and flight testing....Again, the camera detail is GREAT!!!....bob

If the motor is rubber mounted, can the muffler be mounted on a solid bracket or does it have to flex with the motor?
@affordaplanestore5 жыл бұрын
It should have some flexibility

Yep- nice build. But yes you need to find a better place for the throttle

Hi Terry Beautiful job on the affords-lane. I do have a question though? why would you use pop rivets when bucked rivets are better? and what do you think you have into th plane for cost so far?

I think you're overthinking it dude r19 on the inside of the aircraft make a internal wall and you should be good and as far as you know you're going to get the the hue from the heat off of the muffler just like a Harley but other than that I mean I don't see it getting that hot

With the throttle cable we fitted a pitck control cable to a cessna 207 the throttle cable broke in a remote area in Australia and i had a new proppler pitch cable we fitted it and it work and the pilot was the chief pilot of the company and he loved it better yhan the throttle cable as he found uou can go push it idle to full yhrottle and than you have the mmirco adjustment so he could set the RPM he required and it staied 5jere and found it save fuel as he didnt have to keep adjusting the throttle and if he wanted 2450 he could get it spot on by turning the knob when i build an ultralight iam going to use a proppler pitch cable for a cessna 206 to get the fine adjustment
