I love the way you speak about the Afghani people who make these rugs. I have a few of them in the deep reds and blacks with beautiful floral traditional designs that I first saw in a Turkish TV series "Ressurection Urtugrul" and that began my interest in these hand knotted rugs. I don't have a lot of money but I keep buying more as I truly love the tribal rugs.

The price depends on how authentic the quality of the rugs are, the wool/silk type, the weave density, the dye types etc. I've seen some afghan carpets go for over 10 grand (and be worth it), most really high quality afghan carpets fetch a pretty penny

I struggle with the idea that Afghan rugs can be called Persian when they are made in Afghanistan.
@mprugs
@mprugs Жыл бұрын
Many Afghan weavers weave the rugs in refuge towns in Iran and are treated like second class citizens... To me, all are equal and since many of my Afghan friends speak Persian (Farsi), its more out of habit that I refer to the Afghan rugs as Persian....

@@mprugs understood but to those who are not cognoscenti like me it is much clearer to use terms that reflect the origin of the rug as we the customers want to know where the product was made. Your point shows that everything to do with rugs has hidden complications! I'm not placing the rugs in a hierarchy either... I'm currently in Istanbul and looking for a rug to ship home and I thought I might get a medium size tribal afghan rug... We've bought rugs from India in the past (made in Agra, Kashmir, and Afghanistan) so we are accustomed to haggling. We're staying close to the Hagia Sofia if you know a good place to go please let me know. 👍🏻 I have a very fine kashmir silk on silk rug which is a bit of a travel trophy.

@mprugs

Hi, Thank you for your support and kind words... The Kazak rugs are part of the rugs from Pakistan and they are different than the pieces you see in this video. The tribal Afghan rugs are softer and not as tight whereas the Kazak are thicker and tighter. Both are good rugs and typically fairly inexpensive, but they are very different... Hope the info is of help.

@@negakonniga9937Afghanistan and Kazak. Kazaks also came to Afghanistan as refugees. from Kazakhstan, Afghanistan gave nationality to these people. In this way, they came to Pakistan from Kazakhstan and settled in Pakistan. I understand the Pashtun nation that they are ignorant and talk like ignorant and hypocritical people. But I did not expect this from my Persian speakers and Kazaki speakers. 😢

Hi, I mentioned that the Afghan carpets are fairly inexpensive, but I do not mention prices as they vary in each country due to cost of living, taxes and so on... As you can also see in my website, I do not sell these type of Afghan rugs and it would not make sense to state prices when they are priced differently in many countries... Hopes this helps...
