Kabul ,Afghanistan, Chicken Street! So this day started with going to the ministry of tourism to get permission to travel to other provinces! This all turned out to be a nightmare, and still is....thats another story!
i had heard of Chicken Street last visit, when a local mentioned it to me. so googled it and saw that its a MUST SEE place in kabul! nobosy i asked knew about it even! turns out its just 10 mins from my hotel! A famous iconic street in the 60,s and 70s on the Hippy trail , where people would stop on their way to Khatmandu! its now not the bustling place it was, but ive never seen so many interesting antique shops with such unusual things in them. streets lined with jewellery shops, carpet shops and amazing antique shops! i went back a second time, and will probably go back a 3rd time!

Even we got 40yrs of war, still BIG in heart and share our table! Hope you enjoy every second of your time and god bless you! Next time, go to Wakhan!👍

The people , history and geography of Afghanistan is a real Gem just like their beautiful expensive stones. legend and legit deal . My heartaches for the betrayal of the many outsider countries like US, Russia, Nato etc who had proper agenda's to destroy this beautiful country , of course they were not there to build or fight for them instead looted, filled their pockets and exited . Live Long Afghanistan

I loved this vlog very much Emma, especially the store with its treasures and historical artefacts. It was like being in Aladdins cave. FLOWER POWER Chicken street a major attraction during the 60s Attracting foreigners from all over during the hippie trail Thirving in tourism its popularity for souvenirs and drugs Afgan coats, bracelets, rugs, jewellery and precious stones Exotic food, hashish, opium, smoking funny ciggies feeling mellow Long hair and bandanas Traditional folk music & rock and roll Barefooted dancing on air Multi coloured clothing feeling groovy Naked flesh Free love high on drugs Anti-war Spiritual values Love for nature Flower power Peace and love A social revolution An era of ungodly rejection to what is holy....

Dear Emma, it is wonderful to be able to experience impressions of my father's homeland through you. Unfortunately, I have not yet been to Afghanistan. But I would like to give you one piece of advice, which I learned in my early childhood: when shopping, you always have to negotiate. It is almost an insult in Afghanistan if you don't do it! The bracelet for 10$ should have cost maybe 5$ in the end 😉😅 Good luck and all the best! Best regards from Germany 🇩🇪

Three points. First, someone should sponsor that youth that speaks 10 languages, he'll have an amazing future, such as a professor and help many others. Second, those Afghan dresses are $2,000 $20,000 each in America. Third, something to think about, each one of those people have dozens of their family members murdered through war including parents but somehow can keep an authentic smile on their face more than anyone in the West while the Western youth with everything commit suicide out of depression; an interesting psychological point. Plus, they're still nice. Afghanistan is the metaphysical heartbeat of the world, we need to be in harmony with it and learn their beliefs, otherwise, everyone suffers if we try to control it. It's a stallion built to be free. We can just help them become more economically stable if more people can invest in them.
