I love how Adam has had the same haircut and black shirt for the entire career of the band XD. Sonically and fashionably they change with every album but there's always Adam in a black tee in the back banging like Animal on the drums. And that is the best thing ever.

You guys are such winers. Havok is an excellent singer. He is rough during Miss Murder, but after warming up he sounds great. He even decently screams too. He's 40. His performance is comendable. Most bands could never sing this well. Most rock singers can barely be heard live. Because their voices don't cut through the mix. LOL, PLEASE. HE DOESN'T SOUND LIKE SHIT. "I HOPE YOU SUFFER" SOUNDS FINE. And yes, the mix could be a lot better. Listen to 21:35 and onward. That's great work.
@JuanRamos-wg5ol5 жыл бұрын
Yessir!! Totally agree.
@davidu86885 жыл бұрын
Well I don't believe it's "whining " to be disappointed in a performance you saw which you know in the past was 20 times better. You said it yourself, they're getting oooold! As you get older you lose some things but gain others like diversity and wisdom/experience. Unfortunately your God given talents can wear with time and did with Havoks amazing youthful voice. Go to 2003 MTV live performance and listened to AFI then and tell me their current sound and or popularity is anywhere close! If their popularity is it's because of their greatness in that time and shortly after. But that was one of the liveliest crowds ever during their concerts and sounded better then their album...that's very hard to do because as you stated most bands aren't anywhere close live as compared to their albums. Unfortunately that's where AFI has been for quite some time now. If it weren't for the high vocals and constant screams it wouldn't have happened but that's also how their fame became so huge!
@tandbergj5 жыл бұрын
Yep. After the surgeries, and age, his vocal chords are not as flexible as they were. @@davidu8688
@alexjb995 жыл бұрын
Plus the sound people messing up his mic.
@tandbergj5 жыл бұрын
I agree, it sounds to me here like Havok's mic is too low, or his in ear monitor is too low, and so he can't really hear himself. This causes him to really strain to sing, just so he can hear himself. I think this problem, well it's a factor here. But I believe all of us are kind of saying the same thing, and agree more than we disagree. He is a great singer, and his voice is starting to show it's age. But, that doesn't take away from the energy of the crowd and performance. Also, everyone's excitement for this band only builds up over the years. So even if the performance isn't technically perfect, we still love to see this band STILL playing their hearts out. Im sure the people who were at this show, loved it. I finally saw AFI in January of 2012, after being a fan since 1998, and I loved the show, it was absolutely, the best. AFI fans are loyal, so loyal, that the crowd's vocals are written into their songs, and during live shows, these special vocal parts are reproduced very accurately, by many enthusiastic singers in the crowd.

Something is off about Davey's vocals. Maybe it's the mixing? I noticed it on the new EP, too, though. It's like he's trying to hit higher pitches than his vocal cords can handle.

Davey's unclean vocals have been shot since like 2013. It probably doesn't help that they don't play live often anymore. Now it seems his clean vocals are pretty shot too.
@andrelegeant885 жыл бұрын
XanthelinHS Yeah. His lyrics are pretty shot too, lately. The new EP is amateur hour for lyrics and melody. I think Davey needs a break (and maybe another vocal surgery). I wouldn’t mind seeing the rest of the guys do something with another vocalist just for fun.
