Yeah, this songs meaning is vague af. Still great though. It has been said that the album this song comes from is about celebrities and the obsession that goes along with that status. So for me, I sort of interpret this song to be about hook-ups to relieve the stress about working in that industry aka the 'medication' but he (wether that be the character that the lead singer in playing as or the lead singer himself) ultimately doesn't feel anything because the relationship is forced.

I think a good rule of thumb with AFI is keeping in mind that the lead singer-Davey Havok is Straight Edge (that info is from Wikipedia but he has mentioned it a few times in interviews too). For me at least that makes the meaning of their songs a lot clearer because I can assume that whatever they are saying when they mention topics like drugs, it's probably negative in opinion.
