Oh! Could I, could I just find a way? I'd find you everyday and we could alter time. But I've come to find everyone's gone away. So this may be the time for the perfect crime. Yes, this is perfect. (This is) our medicine. (This is) our time to... Medicate here with me. Now as we lose ourselves in this and ignore that you don't even know my name. Medicate. Come day, you'll say you cannot stay. What's more, I'll feel the same. It happens every time. So I've come to find everyone goes away. I'm destined to remain. You were never mine, so you were perfect. (This is) our medicine. (This is) our time to... Medicate here with me. Now as we lose ourselves in this and ignore that you don't even know my name. Medicate here with me. Now as we lose ourselves in us and ignore that you don't even know my name. Medicate. Can you describe what it's like? I feel nothing. Can you feel this? Does it sting? I feel nothing at all. I feel nothing at all. I feel nothing at all. (Can you tell me how it feels?) I feel nothing at all. (Can we pretend this is real?) I feel nothing. Medicate here with me. Now as we lose ourselves in this and ignore that you don't even know my name. Medicate here with me. Now as we lose ourselves in us and ignore that you don't even know my name. Medicate here with me. Although this is not my favorite AFI track, this may be the perfect AFI song. It contains everything that is AFI. Their classic tempo and energy, backup vocals, and even a guitar solo! I think this track binds their old and their new styles together beautifully.

Best Part of the song is from 2:28-3-15. The part that gets me every time is when he repeats "I feel nothing at all Can you tell me how it feels?" I reminded me of times of my life I knew I should've felt a certain way, but I was too numb to feel anything. When my grandfather died, when girlfriend broke up with me, when my mom died, I knew I should've felt sad at these times, but I felt nothing at all. When my friends were moving, I felt nothing. Instead of getting sad, I just get numb. Not sure why I'm like that.

***** I know, it seems like forever for me to feel about something, rather if it's bad or good, I just get numb.

People say they've changed, but look at them when they perform. Davey still jumps around the stage being all energetic and playing with the microphone. Jade still does the thing where he sings into the mic from below, then tilts his head. Hunter still twirls and jumps while playing awesome bass. Adam still plays the drum with the passion of a thousand suns. Their music might sound different, but they still feel very passionate about it, and I feel that's the core of their music.

I like sturgil Simpsons philosophy. Artist don't paint the same picture over and over. Why would a musician (artist) 3 make the same sound over and over on a different record? Change can be good.

They never were emo.. I get what you mean though, they looked pretty Emo around Decemberunderground. But I think that was kinda where they were changing again. Cause didn't Davey get surgery on his voice after that all? Sorry if I'm thinking of another singer.

Zachary Patton They kinda got into the emo punk phase during The Art of Drowing album, in my opinion at least, and after Sing the Sorrow i think it all got more main stream. It's been a steady transformation to where they are now.

There are tons of punk bands that stayed true to their roots, and still developed as artists. The Addicts, the Vandals, Guttermouth, UK Subs, the Misfits, Bad Religion, NOFX, Pennywise, the list goes on and on. Some of these bands have been going since the late 70's or early 80s and are still punk rock bands. That doesn't mean they "stayed teenagers". They have matured, improved and progressed musically but stuck with the genre that earned them fans.

Not as good as Sing the Sorrow but at least they dropped the emo makeup and remembered Davey is one handsome SOAB who doesn't need to be trend-chasing to stay relevant and marketable.
