@@RaefonB I own Black Sails in the Sunset and Art of Drowning (my first exposure to the band) although I admittedly didn’t become a huge fan until Sing the Sorrow, I was still able to go back and really appreciate those two albums as well. I just figured reacting to songs from Sing the Sorrow would get the most views for Brad and Lex, because I think it is their most beloved album, whether it’s their best is obviously arguable. Decemberunderground obviously went for a more mainstream appeal, pushed by Miss Murder. I thought The Blood Album from 2017 captured a lot of their older sound and I do enjoy that album.

In the early 2000s they started a trend in music videos to have snippets of another track from their album either at the beginning or the end. Some cleverly created new tunes for the video alone.

Please listen to "Endlessly, she said" by AFI, it's beautiful and poetic. This song is about someone famous and powerful, who is afraid of aging and becoming forgotten, so they contemplate dying to become immortal and forever "beautiful" in the eyes of their followers. But the last, passage of the song: "What's the hook, the twist, within this verbose mystery? I would gladly bet my life upon it That the ghost you love, your ray of light will fizzle out Without hope We're the empty set, just flowing through, wrapped in skin Ever-searching for what we were promised Reaching for that golden ring we'd never let go But who would ever let us put our filthy hands upon it?", basically says that their legacy will eventually become tainted and twisted by their own followers. This same concept could be applied to Jesus and religion Or it could be about vampires. AFI has a lot of songs about vampires.

For those who are wondering what this song is about well there are two things that Davey has alluded to and The first I'm going to mention is the likely meaning behind the song. #1) Davey is a huge literature buff and has mentioned on quite a few occasions that Oscar Wilde is his favorite author and one of his favorite books is the picture of Dorian Gray. So it is believed that this song represents how Dorian Gray sold his soul to make beauty last forever. #2) Davey also uses a good amount of religious imagery within his lyrics and his videos So the second interpretation of this song is that it represents Lucifer's fall from grace and heaven. Anyway Have a good day everybody.

Davey Havoc / AFI are amazing - been a fan since Black Sails in the Sunset - all their old music is kind of what is called "horrorpunk" - an evolution of The Misfits. Davey and the guitarist Jade have a cool electronic music sideproject called Blaqk Audio which is really good. Davey did the vocals on a project called Son of Sam which had some members from a Danzig project called Samhain. AFI is connected to The Offspring a bit too - they sometimes do backing vocals and such for eachother.
