He did not have depression. He suffered from dementia it was revealed by his widow and the autopsy. There were abnormalities on his brain that spread out over time, & took over. Unfortunately there is no cure for this disease. He will be forever missed

But on the flip side he probably met a lot of people with parkinson's on the set and spent how ever many weeks and months it took to film, so at the same time I'm sure he understands their suffering.

It's really a shame he never got it himself. He affected so many by his heart, and sense of humor. I always wonder if the the same people he is praising, will say the same thing about him in person. I worked with a guy (Coincidentally named Robin) who had severe Parkinson's even in his 20s and 30s, let alone through his 60s. He spent a third of his waking hours not being able to move, another third not being able to stop moving, and the other third trying to rest, get something done, and preparing for the other two thirds of his waking life. My Robin would have laughed at Robin Williams' humor about Parkinson's patients. Robin Williams wasn't making jokes about Parkinson's patients. He was being humorous about Parkinson's. And if you've ever known anyone who's had Parkinson's you'd know that no one needs a sense of humor about Parkinson's more than Parkinson's patients do. That's one reason Robin Williams is no longer with us. Because when he himself needed to have a sense of humor about Parkinson's, he could not summon it.

+Robert Eller: Robin was also dealing with an aggressive form of Lewy Body Dementia, that hadn't been discovered until after he was autopsied. He was started to feel the symptoms, mentally but felt like he was going crazy w/ Anxiety, memory loss, & extreme hallucinations, then add the Parkinson's on TOP of ALL of that! That's A LOT to try handle all at one time! Wouldn't you think so??? 😢❤
