It is honestly pretty fun. The biggest drawback is the gacha elements but the game is designed around you getting every character, so it is easy to do so.

Means your progress/strength is dependent on how many versions of the same character you pull. Also, a single skin costs 25€ in their shop - you don't even get 10 pulls for that price. And the highest-costing package goes into the 100s of euros, while their ice breaker of course is 'only' 1,19€. Stay the fk away from the game!

There's enough negativity in the comments already, so I just want to say: I don't hate these "ad videos" like a lot of people do. I understand that DYKG takes these kinds of deals to fund their own operations, and help with video game preservation. I understand that game developers have a really challenging time getting people to find their games, in a sea of other games, so I understand why they turn to game reviewers and aficionados to help with advertising. And I understand this ad isn't really for me; I don't like mobile games in general, so I will step back and let this ad reach people who maybe are interested in it. I don't feel like I have any cause to be angry about this. However, if game developers are going to use videos like this for ads, I wish that instead of using the video's runtime to describe the game's basic features, they would either let the DYKG team do their own research and share their own personal thoughts, and/or let some of the artists, designers, etc. talk about things like where their inspiration for character designs came from, or real-world lore they researched to adapt to their game, or explain the core experience they wanted players to have, and how they worked at refining one specific game mechanic to help players enjoy the experience. Most of the audience of this channel are interested in stories about game development, the general culture around video games, and obscure trivia and lore about games we enjoy. Any time a game developer wants to sponsor a video with DYKG, I think a lot of people would find it much more palatable if the video focused on those sorts of things. (Of course, some viewers will be angry regardless; there's not a lot you can do about those.) Anyway, I just wanted to say that much.

Suprisingly the game really isn't AFK, it is a bit misleading. You can auto combat if you want to (nearly all gacha games allow this) but its fun and engaging if you do actually manually play it. The AFK part is really just you getting paid EXP and stuff while the game is closed, as opposed to say running a domain 100 times in a game like Genshin.

Advertisement rules work a bit differently for US content creators - they don’t have to denote when their content is an advert. However in the UK, for example, denoting ad content as ads falls in line with consumer protection.

They uploaded video on mother's day like two years ago (It wasn't even an interesting topic from what I remember, but another long one on something they already did), and since people have better things to do than watching hour long game videos on that day, it didn't get as many views as they wanted. Next day they uploaded a video where they were trying to guilt trip viewers because they didn't watch it the moment they uploaded it, and because of that it got deprioritized by the algorithm, but people clapped back, so DYKG backed down.

Respect the hustle, but I really wish the companies that sponsored these videos would understand what the audience of DYKG likes: A 7-10 minute ad-roll with a handful of surface-level behind-the-scenes tidbits... isn't really it. If these companies want the most from their sponsorship, they should approach these like mini-documentaries. Put the marketing stuff in a usual up-front segment, then fill the rest of the script with interesting tidbits. Heck, I bet this video would have more watch-minutes if it about AFK Arena (sponsored by AFK Journey): at least that game is old enough there might be some neat little pieces even for viewers who don't care about either product.

These kind of videos don't match the type of content I'm subscribed for. Also! Aside from good presentation, visuals, and great interface. There's no real "gameplay", as the game plays itself.. the story is worse than Genshin Impact's, and there's plenty of monetization stuff. I don't think it's worth anyone's time. I also don't see the long term appeal. Why would they release such a game!? All thos effort and resources could have been used to make something appealing!

i mean genshin's story eventually actually got good so i'm not sure if that's a negative per se... but if you can play genshin, why play this? so i guess there's that to consider...
