They paid advantage to baily after he got tackled high and rush kicked it behind himself. Umpiring in general towards all teams has gone downhil so far the last couple years. Bailey had no clue it was a free, it was pretty objectively a wrong call. The two missed set shots prior to it equally cost them the game to be fair, as a lions fan its hard but we would've won if daniher and hipwood didnt miss the two shots prior to it. Still an incorrect call that cost us a shot at getting up again, they've been horrid at paying advantage so far this year too. Sad the AFL never learns or improves the way its something all AFL fans can agree on. Umpiring atm is bad across the board

Rioli was within his rights to hold his ground and Sheed wasn't in his peripheral vision. Rioli then allowed Sheed to take the mark and kick the winning goal. No question it was fair play and a fantastic set shot

Nahhhh the 2023 advantage blunder was an awful call but it didnt cost Brisbane the flag. Collingwood just straight up outplayed them on the day, 0 guarantees that a better inside 50 would've given Brisbane a goal in those dying minutes. And no I'm a Port fan not a Pies fan

As a neutral I don’t understand the carry on about 1979. The rule states all of the ball needs to be over the line. Clearly it all of the ball was over. I hate Carlton more than Collingwood but on this Collingwood need to build a bride and get over it. With the 2023 GF I believe the 50 paid to Sidebottom was a far more glaring error. It led directly to a goal that gave Collingwood a buffer of more than a goal, and the offence the 50 was paid for had been overlooked ALL SEASON.

Three points regarding the 2023 GF. 3 points, hmmm, funny that. One of Brisbane's first quarter goals resulted from Lion player turning over the ball from a Mason Cox mark or free (can't remeber) in their forward line. The Lions player was CLEARLY within the protected area and HAD TO BE to even get close to Cox while he was attempting to kick it. Subtract that goal from Lions score and this advantage bullshit becomes irelevent. Also, a CLEAR free kick in the centre (to Nick Daicos I think) wasn't paid as 2 umpiues looked at each other to see which would pay it, niether did. This was clear enough for the commentry team to notice. Last point, COL-LING-WOO-OOD! After the siren: given the times the Pies were robbed in GF's, keep crying Lions fans. 2023 afl gf. after daniher scored the goal. neale was tripped, whistle was blown, never said who’s ball it was. When bailey tried to kick inside 50, he was caught high. this should have been a downfield free kick to the closest player. ROBBED

Brisbane won the free kick count and got soft 50 metres. Zack bailey for example of another instance ran off the mark and intercepted Cox’s kick and that resulted in a goal. People only remember the advantage call because it was one of the last calls of the game, people have short memories and don’t remember all the plays and outcomes of a full 4 quarters of the entire game. Collingwood won fair and square and was the better team on the day, dominating stats, and outscoring lions with far more scoring shots, if not for inaccuracy, collingwood would have buried the lions. It was still a great grand final don’t get me wrong, but Pies 100% deserved the win

Scoring shots and I side fifties mean nothing, it's all about efficiency. Bailey was following through his player when cox played on, not his fault quaynor ran through crazy slowly. "could have" is basically meaningless too, whenever you guys beat a team that missed heaps it was all "bad kicking is bad footy" whenever you kicked badly it was always "we would've flogged you" biggest cope of a fanbase man
