To transfer critically injured patients anywhere in the world, the Air Force uses highly trained and uniquely skilled Critical Care Air Transport Teams. These teams augment aeromedical evacuation crews to create flying intensive care units with global reach using any suitable aircraft.

Went on my first AE flight last week. I'm a 2A6 maintainer, but decided 3 weeks ago to cross train into 4N0 and work with our MDG DET1 group. The AE team was phenomenal, very professional and coordinated. It was awesome doing my part as a maintainer especially when the NIU No.3 mag plug flagged in the plane's error system and me and my crew chief got it fixed up in 30 min, but I'm beyond excited to become a medical airman. Love my Air Force!
