I was assigned to The Pentagon in the mid-late 70’s, and in December, 1976, William Conrad made an appearance as Santa Claus… and that’s something I’ll always remember… those disabled children got a hug and a kiss from Santa then a cookie and juice.

This interview must be from 1981 at least because Nero Wolf and it's cancellation which Conrad mentions, didn't go off the air until late August of 81', after starting in January 1981.

Seems like this would be more towards 1980 or 1981 even, since Nero Wolfe wasn't until then. I can't find a reference to the movie titled in German that he references. Thanks for the posting.

@@afrtsfan Yep. Arness's Dillon may have been 6'7" but Conrad's voice suggested an even more formidable Marshall.
