Issue 21 was my first Sonic the Comic issue I got, but I would miss out on the rest of the Sonic CD story arc until it got reissued later on (as I wouldn't start collecting the StC issues after 31). Great job on this vid btw. Looking forward to the future ones.

I think this series has potential to be the definitive retrospective of the series, even on just editing alone, genuinely stellar. And i don't think anyone has or ever will go this in depth into the panel layouts and structure of the comic, I feel like people should really go into that more when reviewing comics. Great video so far and already well worth the wait. (Plus the redraws for certain panels to demonstrate your points look amazing and fit in perfectly)

You're too kind. I agree too many comic videos are just story recaps when I would prefer to see a breakdown of the craft and techniques on display. As for the definitive retrospective, all I can say is that if people keep watching these, I'll keep making them.

I also think that Silver Sonic 0.2 from 16-bit Sonic 2 is a prototype of Metal Sonic while supporting the idea of Sonic CD being the prequel to Sonic 2 for the Genesis . My explanation is that before Sonic CD Silver Sonic 0.2 and Metal Sonic were made then Robotnik , Metal Sonic and the badniks took off to conquer Little Planet , then when Metal dissapeared Robotnik being desperate put the Silver Sonic 0.2 (the prototype of Metal Sonic) on the Death Egg as it's guardian .

Great video. I'd say it's alcohol markers all the way with these comics. If you put down enough marker ink (as you would do with a large background panel) the colours can be blended a lot more like inks or watercolour paints. Plus, the more marker ink you put down, the more bleed you get as the ink spreads out. The other question is, what kind of paper is being used? The texture suggests something thick or at least fairly absorbent, which again would affect the blending and bleed when using Copics (I don't think Promarkers were a thing this long ago). That said, if this is all done with alcohol markers...they were a lot harder to get hold of in the UK last century! It would have been a very expensive way to colour!

"making sure you archie fans get fed" the food: whats generally agreed to be the most disturbing, rancid and inappropriate page in the series. trying to give us food poisoning I see. that being said we do see Robotnik mess with a plan with a sonic double later (Not Extra Life obviously, that wasn't his scheme) and based on that one, I would guess that a robot copy wouldn't be as convincing for the characters as it would the readers, it may be more obviously made out of metal or something.

@@WebstersKZbin that's the one, yeah. theres a lot of back and forth evidence in StC that leads me to think that the test robots aren't as convincing to the characters as they are to the readers.
