+ also in game 2 Flash did EVERYTHING that bothered him in TvP. Constant exchange so that Terran never reaches 200, reaver then Templar speed drops, continuous speed shuttle production for combat (least 2). Most Protoss players don’t use shuttle this much for optimization purpose. Flash being a random player he is so unorthodox we may actually see flash winning ASL 10

I have always wondered how a pro player would play if they choose to play random, because in theory, that gives the player a massive advantage but also require tremendous amount of preparations and experiences of all 3 races to pull if off. It seems that flash stormdrops terran more then any given protoss player. I wonder how it works. In theory, reducing the economy alongside the army of terran makes it very difficult (or impossible) to expand while also preventing offensive moveout. It essentially allowed flash to secure his early game lead by simply eliminating rush options. Interesting.

@@naczelnypsycholog6296 I think that this was situational tactics. By spending on gas on templars, he is delaying arbiter tech and upgrades. But upgrades are not critical and he won't need arbiters for defense since terran has no scary army. At the same time, he can safely expand and when eventually he attacks it won't even matter how many toss units die because he can rebuild the army very quickly thanks to the superior economy. But to do all of that you need an initial lead from the harass. I think that this makes sense, but I just wonder why no other toss uses this style.

I also have noticed this trait. Hard to say if it's occasional gig/cheese or defined playstyle. Thing is, offrace Flash can't win with just pure micro/macro play, he lacks experience. So he wins with tactics. He actually admitted that in interviews - last season he decided to play by tactics, just for fun. And this season he does that out of other options. So it may be just a gig he won't use again, just like that ninja base with Snow. Is this play worth it in long run? I'ain't this good to speculate on this. But if he does it again in Ro. 4 and wins, then yes it is ;)

I think they got game 2 wrong. At some point Tasteless was saying he was worried for Flash and like 30 seconds later he said Rush is hanging on by a thread. Like, what? Regardless, Flash dominated that whole game. He displayed a brilliant PvT and any mistakes he made were minor.

The thing is, the Terran army scales way better as the game progresses, and Flash had just attacked outside Rush's third while being very wasteful with his units. If somehow Rush got his economy together and Flash kept being wasteful with his main army, he could have lost that. But yeah, Flash had already won that game because of all the Reaver and HT drops.

@@Galacsia Well, let's be clear about why the Terran army scales better as the game progresses. It's really the nature of ranged units (especially the tank) scaling with army size and not the upgrades as I sometimes hear. So Flash's constant pressure kept the battles relatively small. The inefficient trades we're better in the long run because they would have been even more inefficient if he let Rush get a larger army. Basically, the whole game I was watching Flash just get more and more ahead. Artosis was smart enough to point out the large supply differences at times, but I just thought it was weird they were acting like the game was closer than it really was.

I don't understand the Nexus first on a 2 players map. Your opponent wants to scout you a fast as possible, and he can find you immediately. Therefore there is a high chance of the Nexus first being scouted very early (except obviously in the case we had... did he anticipate it ??)

fast worker scout loss meaningful minerals in the early game. Flash actually prepared fast 2cc in game 1 so i think Rush tried to offset the advantage that Flash gets from playing random. maybe for that reason he start fast second cc and scout as late as possible

Scouting is like Scrodinger's Box. The game is anyone's game until that box is opened. When yu get to this level of competitive play, once yu open this box (aka. Knowing the opponent's build), the arms race begins. Just because yu manage to get a scount in doesn't mean the opponent is like durr im like, not gonna start building counters to yur counters at all. So if yu start building counters to a fast expand, all the opponent has to do is wall off and beat yur ass in after macroing a stronger army and then yu get GG'd And on top of that, if they survive yur initial drop/push, they are actually free to counter harass like the Reaver drop Flash did and totally cripple yur economy.

First tvt its auto win, second game rush was ahead early due to opening, but took damage to Reaver drop its actually the cleanest pvt ive seen, Flash knew exactly what to do in every stage of the game vs a terran. Third game looks like a build order win, but I bet flash is like what am i gonna do 0--2 in bo5, 8 rax, ok 7 pool. Not much luck involved pure skill.

Ringing Bloom is 4 player map. Rush does not know where Flash is. BBS is done somewhere in the center. Rush had bad luck that he built it right in front of Flash's base, making it even more lopsided win for Flash.
