Africa Twin Air Filter Replacement (GUGLAtech)

In this video, I replace the air filters on my 2017 Honda Africa Twin CRF1000L motorcycle with new air filters from GUGLAtech and Best Rest Products. I provide a brief review of the GUGLAtech air filters as well as simple installation instructions for removing the OEM air filters and installing the new air filters on the Honda Africa Twin (CRF100L and CRF1100L).

I ordered the GUGLAtech air filters for my Africa Twin from BestRestProducts.COM, the US distributor. The filters arrived within a few days and came with the two filters and adapter plates for the CRF1100L.
GUGLAtech is an italian company that produces these awesome high tech air filters. The air filters are reusable and exceed OEM air filter specs, including a 30 to 40 micron high tech 3D matrix synthetic fabric mesh and a reinforced wire screen.
I used the No-Toil air filter oil system to add an additional level of protection to the GUGLAtech air filters on my motorcycle. Even though oil is not required, it provides added protection for the CRF1000L. NOTE: In some online forum posts GUGLAtech has indicated they DO NOT recommend No-Toil due to some unsubstantiated concerns with corrosion. Please consider this when selecting an air filter oil. GUGLAtech recommends Rock Factory oil.
Note that in the video I move the gas tank back for better access to the air filters (and to complete some other work I had going on the bike at the time). This is not strictly required for air filter replacement.

You are correct. Moving the fuel tank back is optional, but does give you more room to work.

That one of the reason I sold my crf1000 for a T7. I like drive in africa and with the T7 I need 5min to change my air filter. 5 min also to remove the petrol tank. It's not the same machine but the T7 is so easy to work on it ,it's a bike for travelling. Regards from France.

dont need to take off the gas tank to remove the filtres..just the side plastics

Its a foolish to design like that to access the air filter...

Totally agree. Huge pain to get in there. That's why I combined the air filter project with the lighting work. Minimize the number of times I have to take all the fairings off.

I hear the goldwing air filter is also a challenge. Too bad, awesome machines, but some little things like this could be done better.....I hope.
