Damn fine solution. I might just copy your work. What AT model is yours? Mine is 2019 variant, I'm wondering if it's the same?

Mine is a 2017. I would imagine if not the same, yours is very similar.

Do you know what size connector you used at 12:57? This has been kicking my ass for 2 days now but your video has saved me

The OEM connectors on the bike are sumitomo HM .090 sealed. The one under the seat is a 6-pin and the one behind the headlight is 4-pin version. All the info is in the video description and there is more info on PointsUnknown.com. Here are some links: www.cycleterminal.com/hm-sealed-series-090.html www.pointsunknown.com/blog/2022/12/high-beam-trigger-for-aux-lights-on-the-honda-africa-twin-part-3/ If you just need the terminal pins, those can be purchased from cycleterminal as well (scroll down to the bottom of the page linked above). Hope this gets you what you need. The wiring can get pretty complex and as I got into it, I was a bit surprised what it turned into. If you still have questions let me know.

@@PointsUnknownTV The terminal pins are what I was looking for, I already had the plug fortunately. Previous owner did a lot of tasteful mods to the bike, but I had a set of Nilight pods I took off of our boat and have been trying to get them tied into the high beam switch. I just went and tested what you showed just by touching my wire to it and it worked perfectly with the handlebar switch. Going to see if my local stores might have those pins and get it crimped on tomorrow. This whole thing has been a headache lol, my first time taking all of the fairings and headlight assembly off of this bike. I appreciate your response and the video; you're a lifesaver.

I have some questions regarding relays and how they might bypass the key assuming the relay is faulty. Is it possible a relay being faulty would not allow “key off” to shut off electronics? Feel free to start conversation on any application or forum you see fit. Thanks!

Yes. It's possible a relay could fail. Unlikely a typical "energize to close" relay would fail on, but very few things are impossible. Considering relays are used all over the vehicle, I'm not sure some low probability of failure would dissuade me from using them. For critical applications, you could probably source higher reliability parts (though I tend to just use standard automotive stuff for my purposes).

@@PointsUnknownTV I think I’ve troubleshot and found a failed relay in my FuzeBlocks FZ-1. Key out, ignition in the off position, but all electronics, dash, lights energized. Just curious, even though rare, if it’s possible for the coil in a relay to fail and energize the circuit.

@@jvmo_86 was it working correctly before? The relay shouldn't be backfeeding other circuits on the bike. The display, headlights, etc. circuits have their own relays. How is the FZ1 powered? Ideally it's directly off the battery, with ignition signal power (to fire the relay) from the factory accessory plug.

Also, with the FZ-1, is the fuse in the "switched" position? I believe it can be either a "constant on" fuse block or a "switched" relay from a 12v trigger (like the oem accessory socket), depending on the position of each device fuse.
