Even though I was born & raised in America, I served in its military. I never felt a part of this land. Ever since I was a boy, my spirit felt drawn to Africa. I knew nothing about Africa except what I saw on tv, which was negative. But yet, I was still drawn to Africa. Back in the 80s, I watched the television mini series Shaka Zulu. I wanted to be a Zulu warrior so bad. Lol Fast-forward to 1995, while in the military, I went to Egypt. I remember feeling such a peace. Well, I'm finally going back to the African continent, but this time, I'm going to Ghana in a few months. I did a Dna test. On my mother side, we descend from the Akan people in Ghana. My fathers line is the Fulani people in Nigeria. I plan on visiting South Africa next year. I want to learn everything I can about the Xhosa & Zulu. I know Africa has many languages & tribes. I want to learn as much as I can & pass on the knowledge to my children before I die. Peace & Blessings to the Motherland, my ancestors & all the people of Africa.

The Portuguese language is not an African language, and neither is English,Spanish or whatever. Africans must seriously consider as to how we are to communicate with one another first, and to the world. Language is the soul and spirit of any people of which without it,any people are lost !

I am from Ghana and I must say I am a bit disappointed you haven't shown then Luanda, Angolan capital in all its glory. And for those who are interested in a bit of history, the defeat of South Africa by Angolan and Cuban forces led directly to the independence of Namibia and later the fall of apartheid South Africa. Angola has been a serious anti western imperialist country from day one.

Many slaves to the Americas were from Congo, Guinea, Ghana, Senegal. It's neither easy nor necessary for one to trace exactly where they came from but what's important is to learn or research about the country that appeals to you. Some lesser know countries I'd suggest are Zambia, Namibia, Angola, Cameroon, Gambia, and Guinea (ps. there are 3 Guineas in Africa). East African slaves were mainly to Europe and the Arab world.

I'm a continental African and in my opinion you shouldn't restrict yourself to any one region of Africa when in fact Africa is your birth right. It was the European who carved up Africa and alienated different groups of Africans from each other. Yes there are different tribes in Africa but originally most Africans were nomadic people who migrated with their herds or followed the prey that they hunted. My roots are from West Africa but I'll be damned if the whole of Africa isn't my home. Peace.

All things aside I was thinking more I watched the video I realised what momma was saying about get a message about leaving this is like me now the thing is I am I got this almighty feeling to leave scotland and get to south africa. Not sure why but I currently selling everything I cant take with me and plan to leave end of june. This came after years of working and never stepping up the ladder, been shift manager in fast foods all over, tattooed for over a decade and then retrain went back to university and graduated Programming with honours. Just as I about to graduate then doctor decided I had ADHD and anxiety and prescribed what they call medicine and since then life has just has continued to spiral out of control to point where it was leave the world or leave where I am and find my true purpose. This is when I decided to leave scotland and make my way to south africa I am a Caucasian and was wondering if there is any places I would struggle to travel easily I dont want conflict I am escaping a city life that constant feels like a war zone and I cant do it anymore.

Shout to the the 757!!!! I visit Ft. Monroe in Hampton, VA every Saturday and Sunday morning. I sit by the marker of where the first African Enaved touched these American grounds. A significant population of the Hampton Roads, VA can statistically trace their root to the first Enslaved Africans that came to the United States. I’ve been researching so many pages of Black Americans who are tracing their roots. I’m not that interested in that as much I just want to reconnect with my African brothers and sisters and I love the Portuguese language and have an interest in the people of Angola. So I’m highly interested in a few African countries Angola, Botswana, Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya. So I’m narrowing it down. But Angola is rising higher and higher.

Please note point of Correction:7.33 - 7:37 Quote "Kembo... Kembo unataka dhambi ya Mzungu" and I'm confident he meant to say "Kembo you want a curse (sin) of White man" ...On the matter of fact this is not Ki Congo language, it's a Ki- Swahili language....which widely spoken in East African nations eg: Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia including DRC- Congo (Esp Eastern part of DRC like province/Cities of Kivu, Goma, Bukavu, Matadi, Uvira etc)

It is kikongo , not Swahili .She said : " Kembo Kembo na Tata Nzambi ya ma Zulu " . That means : glory glory to the father God of the heaven .

@@mbakunkasa3784 Thank you for the clarification...and your translation is making a sense. You know even after Re- listening it many times I figure out in Swahili language translation still does not makes a sense. I know in Lingala language ( in DRC Congo) - "Tata ya Nzambe" means God the Eternal Father.

@@maxwellking9399 .Kikongo is close to Swahili .For instance , when you ask " what is your name ?" , in Swahili you say : djina lakho nani . In kikongo we say : zina yaku nani. Can you notice that there is not a big difference ?

@@mbakunkasa3784 YES, I agreed Kikongo (esp Lingala language) is a Bantu language and most of its words are very common among many African (Countries) tribes languages for example: Zina = (In swahili "Jina") = Name / or 'Munyu' (In swahili= Chumvi) = Salt / or "Mbuzi" = Goat or 'Msichana in swahiili = (Msikana = Shona in Zimbabwe and Zulu in South Africa) = a girl in English

@@maxwellking9399 .Lingala is not a Bantu language , it is in the banch called Ubangi ( Oubangui ) .In this branch you find the languages of Central African Republic, Sudan , and a few languages in the East of Cameroon . Lingala has been enriched by kikongo . Kikongo was the first Bantu language to have a dictionary in the 17 e century .Also it was the first to use the latin letters ( a,b,c,d,e...) , for Swahili was using arabic letters .Many lingala words and phrases are kikongo .That is why today lingala seems to be a Bantu language .
