I think I will re-watch this video everyday. It' tells the story of South-Africa during Apartheid, reminds us where we coming from, then we see the beautiful culture of This country from those handmade bracelet's to those beautiful historical memories, and that man dancing there on the street, made my day😂 A really good way to start the day. The food in our Country is Amazing, Thank you for this video, it's the best, love it. and God Bless you for doing what we are afraid of doing, Showing the world the Real South-Africa🥀🌹🌺🏵

What the hell are you talking about, during apartheid? This wasn't filmed during apartheid. Stop blaming APARTHEID. Time black South Africans got off their backsides and work for what they want instead of just expecting hand outs all the time.

Everywhere u go is the real South Africa, from Sandton to Soweto is all the real South Africa, that is how huge and diverse our country is, every area has different demographics/class/culture that makes it each place uniquely different to the other, its what makes us standout in Africa, anyways glad u had fun❤

From the time you land on South African soil, you entered the "Real South Africa." From the airport to Midrand, Sandton or Soweto, all of this is the Real South Africa in its diversity. We don't have Ghettos in South Africa. We have suburbs, townships, informal settlements and rural areas. Soweto is not a ghetto. It is a township abbreviated as SO (South) WE (Western) TO (Townships). I'm glad to see that you guys enjoyed your tour of Soweto. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Black South Africans are found in 90% of the country. So the whole country is the real South Africa. We must move away from the notion that suburbs and more posh areas are not the real South Africa coz most of those areas were not there before 1994. Most of these modern residential areas and shopping malls in our country were designed and built by black civil engineers and architects. As someone who grew up in Soweto we are very proud of Soweto coz we turned it into a beautiful place from what we had been handed and there is nothing ghetto about Soweto.

I grew up in Soweto and it will never be a ghetto. I attended a funeral about two weeks ago in Moletsane was struck by how clean the township is. Kasi la makasi. Soweto epitomizes the resilience of the African spirit. ❤

@@mamaT709 Bafo, SOWETO is a ghetto. We’re just not accustomed to using that word in SA, so it rubs people of the wrong way. It’s like how we call traffic lights “robots” & Petrol stations “garages”. It’s the same thing, just different wording.

I love South Africa , I've been there several times, just recently this year. I'm glad to see more AA taking the long journey from the US to SA. My first time in SA was Cape Town. It was a shock to me because I didn't expect to see so many whites. 😅.....My second time to SA, I went to Johannesburg and felt at home. It reminded me of Harlem and Atlanta. The same tour you did in Soweto, I did three times, and they each story was told differently 😅but they pretty sum it up that Hector Pieterson killed. My third time to SA, I went back to Johannesburg and Cape Town. In my fourth and fifth time in SA, I rented a car and took a road trip across the country to Durban, Drakenberg, Zululand, Port Elizabeth, George, East London, Bloemfontein, Port Edwards, and Jeffreysbay. SA and Zimbabwe are similar to the US. Blacks experienced the same struggle blacks experienced in the US. I highly recommend SA and other African countries.

I wish you wouldn’t refer to Soweto as a “ghetto”. With it’s rich history and culture; it’s more than the shanty areas. So many in the township have done so much and many of the current generations have come back and expanded their little homes and plots. It’s growing economically. It’s a vibe. Honestly we were as comfortable or more on Vilikazi street in Soweto as we were in many other parts of SA. The HP memorial was very emotional for us. It shows how much AAs have in common with SAs in terms of the community struggle.

Soweto is Not A Ghetto please stop. There's way too much history in Soweto to be watered down to a Ghetto.

They are African Americans, is Southern Africa not part of Africa? As long as their feet are planted anywhere in Africa it's okay with me.

Your comment is quite ignorant. I've met many Nigerians in the USA and the UK, most of them were permanent residents and some were visitors. Based on your logic, Nigerians should only stay in Nigeria? African-Americans just like Nigerians have the right to travel and see the world which includes any country they want to visit. They don't have to limit themselves to West Africa. Some African-Africans actually prefer South Africa and East Africa over West Africa. Get over it!
