i will be the first to comment. thank you for a very clear descriptive. I live in the south of france (came from the UK many years ago ). but recently and moved to a new house with an over grown garden all to be re-arranged. a few of these plants already existed and I multiplied them with great success. they flower . and am delighted with the yellow flowers from novembre and now it is january here in the south of France and I think they will continue until feburary or more. I will post again the date until they flower. an amazing blush of bright yellow r flowers in the winter

I have 3 that have grown into goliath proportions they are approximately 5 ft tall and 6 feet in diameter. How much can I prune off to get them to a more manageable size without hurting them? Also I am excited to know how easy it is to propagate. Nothing healthy goes in the trash in my garden. I either propagate, chop and drop or compost. I cant wait to be able to have more to spread around the property and share with friends! Thank you!

Hi that's an amazing height. Normally, I would prune about a third off. And what I learnt, in order not to loose all the blooms, I do it in stages.

Thank you! That makes sense. I will try that and I'll propagate all the bits and share the baby plants with neighbors.

Thank u from India.....These dried flowers can be used as seeds?

Yes you can. Once the flower is spent and the petals fall off, allow the seed head to dry. You can actually allow the seed head to dry on the plant. Once dried, open up the seed head and you will have your seeds.

How do you prune back this Daisy type plant and when

With the African bush Daisy I would prune it back about 5 inches mid summer to encourage more blooms or in event it gets leggy to encourage branching. My mistake in the past, is that, I would prune back all the branches. But these days I do sections so that the plant always has some blooms.

Something is eating the African daisy blooms in my yard, what is doing that?

Hi Lauren, get a couple of blooms early morning and open them up, you may be able to see a caterpillar. There could also be Aphids, have a look at the underside of leaf ( aphids love hiding there) and as you open the bloom look and see if there are any aphids hiding. keep me posted.
