Love Angle's Hatchery and the small lessons on all the fish and all the critters you are the steward of. Keep it all coming!!!! The more we all learn the better we all can be for all of the critters we are stewards of, or even in the wilds too! Love the channel.

Cichlids are by far my favorite of all species. Their personalities are incredible for a fish. Their intelligence is unbelievable. The ability they have of nest building is something to behold. Different parenting skills are amazing to witness and watch All the colors are just beautiful. Thank you.

Hi Kenan Sorry about the loss of your dad 😥. You are such an inspiration showing so much love, and passion for all of your reptiles. Wow Angel's Fishery is amazing, all of his fish are so beautiful. I know that you are going to take some back home with you. I hope that the artificial gator head keeps that blue heron from eating your fish. So interesting to see the eggs in their mouth, and to see him release the babies from her mouth.❤🐊🦎🐍🐢🐟Cindy

My father passed from cancer 2 years ago, if it wasn't for his passion in fish keeping then I wouldn't be browsing and watching great videos like these now and also wishing I had more room for extra tanks haha!

Fantastic fish. When we don't have cats, I'd like to get some fish again. I'm sorry Kenan about the loss of your father. We lost my mom about 3 yrs ago now. She was the last of our parents. I still feel her loss keenly at times.

Tropheus duboisi have been one of my favorite chiclids to keep. I originally got them because of their “starry night” coloring when they are young. Watching them change to a different color pattern is pretty neat. I had kept them previously in a community tank, but having them in their own tank was very enjoyable.

This is gonna sound crazy, but my dad's family has been in Florida since the 40's and my pap taught me this it really works. Go to a garden center that has statues get a heron statue. Take it home put it near you ponds. They will not go on another herons territory, every once in a while you move the statue. It will keep the birds away from your fish. I have told this to all my friends. on bought a steal heron and it worked too.

I used to keep african cichlids, I did not know the back story to the blue scofolofi! I had one in my tank and it was my favorite fish! Would love to see some Frontosa in the pond!!! They get very large for a cichlid, arent too aggresive!
@Constantine_Cvl82 жыл бұрын
He does have a lot of mbuna in there though, the fronts might eat some lol

I use to live on a organic farm in Portland OR. The owner/farmer protected his berries from the birds by running several lines of holographic tape across them. He twisted the tape though so it reflected better. I would say it was twisted about every 6inches.
@hooktraining39662 жыл бұрын
As soon has he pointed to that hanging ball thing I was thinking some sort of decoy would help. Coyote decoys are often used on golf courses to keep geese off of it.

Hey Kenan, maybe do a chicken wire net over the enclosure to keep the birds from preying on your fish? I can only imagine the fish are rather pricey to obtain and replenish.

Kennan , your snapper literally sits still, and has a worm like appendage in its mouth , and as the cichlid tries to eat that , the snapper slams its mouth closed ...... it's an extremely effective fish hunter beyond any heron.
@dalebrownhill25402 жыл бұрын
I used to build ponds with my landscape business and we would have problems with great blue herons not only cleaning them out but they could puncture the liner material but we found if we put a great blue heron decoy near the pond it would keep all the other birds away because they're very standoffish around other birds

Great fish clip! Did he say his Deboise Ciclids "keep their eggs in their mouths just like a chicken for 21 days"???? 😳 What did he mean? Are there some types of chickens that keep their eggs in their mouths??? How on earth is that possible? I've been around barns and chickens my entire life and I've NEVER seen a chicken holding her eggs in her mouth for even 1 day let alone 21 days. Please explain Kenan!
@sharim2 жыл бұрын
I think he was referring to the time it takes for the eggs to hatch “The normal incubation time of most chickens is 21 days to 21 days, 6 hours”. That threw me off, too!
