This fresh fish stew, as its name suggests, comes directly from Togo, from the South more precisely. It is often considered the sauce of fishermen but it is less than the one called, "Fiossinu", identical to the Beninese "Dakouin". This allows for a wider seasoning.
In any case, it remains specific to the coastal zone because it is necessary “above all” to use fresh fish and not “fresh frozen fish”.
It is a staple dish that is eaten regularly during periods of heavy fishing and is easily accompanied by rice, various tick pastes/swallows or other side dishes according to the taste of each house.

Cette sauce de poisson frais comme l’indique son nom, nous vient directement du Togo, du Sud plus précisément. Elle est souvent considérée comme la sauce des pêcheurs mais elle l’est moins que celle appelée, « Fiossinu », identique au « Dakouin » Béninois. Ce qui permet un assaisonnement plus large.
Quoi qu’il en soit, elle reste spécifique à la zone côtière car il faut « surtout » utiliser du poisson frais et non « du poisson frais congelé ».
C’est un plat de base qui se mange régulièrement en période de grandes pêches et s’accompagne facilement de riz, diverses pâtes ou encore d’autres accompagnements selon le goût de chaque maison.
