My father served in RR for years first 2 years were right after he joined the indian army and than again for 2 years around 15 years after. He lost a couple of his friends there

RR is a part of Indian Army and our regular soldiers serve in RR ...I was the 2IC of 5/9 GR, in the 90's during my period RR was not even created but the High Command was thinking to create a dedicated counter insurgency force .... RR soldiers are selected by the COs of their respective battalions and the Regimental commanders ...... Such as 19 RR soldiers are selected from Sikh light Infantry ....18 RR soldiers are selected from Rajputana Rifles, Our Gurkhas also have three RR battalions 15 RR, 32 RR and 33 RR ...They also draw forces from almost all the infantry regiments........ Salute to your father.... What's his name and Unit ?? may be he's my contemporary ..........
