Tejas 1 was rejected by Indian Navy because it is not really suitable. It has a heavy engine and total weight of the fighter jet is 13500 kgs and can carry a payload of 3.5 tones, top speed 2250 km/hr, combat radius of 400-500 km. Mig-29 also used by Indian navy, Mig 29 weighs 11000 kgs, can carry a payload of 5.5 tones, top speed 2440 km/hr and combat radius 1430 km.

Apart from this India have special territorial scouts army who are specialized in that particular terrains and climate for example Ladakh scouts, Arunachal scouts, Naga regiment, assam rifles, assam regiment, gurkha rifles, kumoan regiment, J&K regiment. This regiments and scout are specialized in jungle warfare, mountain warfare and gorrila warfare.
