This song was made for the Batman Returns soundtrack. It makes more sense after watching the movie. I always thought it reflected Cat Woman's inner conflict, so you're correct about the mental health aspect.

That would be me who requested this one and I'm really glad I did. As for an interpretation, I really never thought of it as much as I enjoy the song, but yours seems pretty spot on given its melancholy style. Thanks again for checking it out and your "You'll never know" as the song was ending was so cute. 😅

IMO Siouxsie and the Banshees were the best band of 80s, so many incredible songs. Please do more Siouxsie!

Excellent interpretation. Siouxsie has a have a few songs about multiple personalities (Christine, Eve White/ Eve Black, The Double Life) and interestingly is a Gemini. This could also be about twin flames if the listen choices to interrupt it that way but it was directly inspired by Cat Woman from the Batman Returns soundtrack. She is in fact regarded as a legitimate legend and style icon who not only influenced many artists but a generation. She will always be forever cool and made classic music that is as timeless as it is diverse, original and unique. 7:44

Siouxsie and the Banshees launched the post-punk genre before punk even made its big debut splash with The Sex Pistols and others. They influenced dozens of bands in the eighties, including The Smiths and Joy Division, and in loose terms it could be said The Cure was one of the bands that spun off them as well. It took them about a decade to find wider success in the US, with "Cities in Dust", "This Wheel's on Fire", "The Passenger", and "Kiss Them for Me". And for some of their early works, check out "Hong Kong Garden", "Happy House", "Christine", and "Spellbound". We played "Hong Kong Garden" in the band I was in my senior year of high school. Our singer was a big fan and eventually started her own "goth" band called The Shroud.

This song was attached to 'Batman Returns,' and was basically Catwoman's song. The version of her in that movie had a head injury which basically turned her into Catwoman.

Some of her songs can get a bit deep, but they have a melancholy beauty.
