Most of the people live off remittances." 1) Cape Verde is one of the FEW (about 4-5) MIddle-Income Countries in the whole of Africa; check the World Bank/IMF sites, as you need it! 2) Number 1 in Africa for Democracy. 3) HDI is amongst the highest in Africa 4) The GDP is majorly tertiary (Services, Banking Tourism, Pharmaceuticals, Electronic Governance, Commerce, Ports, Airports, and Communications) 5) The country is investing heavily in IT. 6) You need to get updated. 7) You should stop writing rubbish if you don't know the facts. 8) I am not even from there. I am British but know the country quite well. Btw, it's not "the Island"; there are ten of them, therefore CV is an archipelago.

@clement Asampana Start what? I think I know what my people are. I'm of the DaCruz family of Santo Antao and Boa Vista. Those are 2 islands that make up Cape Verde for those who don't have any connection to the islands. The people are a mixture of African and European. The country isn't actually on the mainland. The Canary Islands are closer to the African coast, but yet are somehow considered Spain. The culture is a mixture, and the island was uninhabited until the Portuguese found it. You would have a point if I had said Cape Verde is European, but I said it is its own thing. It's neither African or European, but a combination of the two.
