Hello family , welcome to my KZbin channel iam_marwa , i hope you have enjoyed this video. A quadripoint is a point that touches the border of four distinct territories. Also known as the “four corners of Africa,” these four countries meet at the eastern end of the Caprivi Strip - Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. There are more than 150 tripoints in the world but only ONE international quadripoint.

I wonder why you mentioned Zimbabwe more than 20 times in the last 3 vlogs Marwa has done. Vic Falls is better in Zambia, Zimbqbwe is expensive, Zimbabweans come to shop here, Zimbabweans didn't get involved in the Kazungula bridge, Zim Zim Zim Zim... In the spirit of togetherness, we don't denigrate each other. Esp since you have never been to Zim side of Vic Falls, lots of presumptions

Leadership is one of Africa's main problems. There is no need to invent the wheel - Europe is an example on how border crossings could be dealt with. The colonisers left the countries underdeveloped and financially bankrupt. It now requires those in authority to think outside the box to gradually improve the lives of their citizens. Yes, progress is taking place but too slow with very high external debts. Further, when greed and corruption are rampant, the majority of the citizens suffer to survive, while a few benefit.

One of thé items tô do for developping Africa, is free merchandise exchange as well as free circulation of population. Any necessary control is always possible. Africa, bei inspired by "S CHENGEN" for Europe. Not thé best solution for free circulation, but a way for improving free circulation.

The countries in Europe have more or less the same level of economic development. When the borders are opened, there is an evening of the traffic. Botswana has a much higher per capita income than Zambia, Zimbabwe or even Kenya. If the borders of Botswana were to be opened, 5 million Nigerians could move in over night and completely overwhelm the 2.5 million citizens of Botswana. The idea is good, but I think that it should be done in stages. South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, LeSotho and eSwatini should integrate. Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe should integrate, and the later on, perhaps these countries can come together with South Africa's group, if the standard of living can be raised. Similarly, Kenya,Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi should integrate. Later on these can integrate with the other countries in Southern Africa... Congo can join when it gets its house in order. Angola can join whenever they want. There is a method to my madness. The countries I have mentioned are all Bantu speaking, and would have no problem with accepting Swahili as a lingua franca. Once the rest of Africa saw the benefit of this, it would adopt Swahili and forget all this talk of adding Mandingo, Fulani or Yoruba as other lingua francas..As you know, even though England is not a member of the EU, the Europeans still speak English in the European parliament

@@josephsakala_lv9416 that’s not my point; I’m African and I advocate for fairness among our people. I have very good Zambian friends, very respectful. The seed of division and hatred growing in you is from the colonisers. I don’t live in Zimbabwe, 🇿🇼 and if I did, Harare is 708 km away from the Victoria Falls. It’s not logical to bring Marwa and Rocio just to check the Zimbabwean side of the waterfalls from Harare (when they were just there). Unless they decide to fly, of course I’d pay for their flight ticket to the Victoria Falls International Airport!

You’re very funny! Ruto has been talking a lot, saying big things to appear as a Pan-African then turns around and to do the bidding of his US masters. He said that Kenya will be a visa-free country only for him to complicate things by adding a ridiculous application process which costs about $30 plus a lot of waiting time. The man is not worth mentioning when trying to be serious.

2- The Kazungula is built at the only quadra-point border crossing in the world. What that means is that the borders of 4 countries meet at one point. To your left across the river was Zimbabwe, ahead was Botswana, and right above where the bridge is, lies the Caprivi Stip of Namibia. As you can see, the bridge is curved to to the West in order to pass over the Caprivi Strip. The reason is that when Zambia and Botswana decided to build the Kazungula bridge, the Zimbabwean government tried to sabotage it. The reason is that the traffic from Zambia and DRC, particularly the copper, has mostly transited through the Chirundu, Zambia/Zimbabwe to Beit Bridge Zimbabwe/South Africa. The tolls from this traffic amounts to 70% of all the road tolls collected by Zimbabwe. The Zimbabweans are afraid that if they lose their traffic, it would batter their already beleaguered economy Among the schemes the Zimbabweans tried to sabotage the Kazungula Bridge with was to ask the UN to rule that Zambia does have a border with Botswana. They clamed that Zimbabwe actually cuts off Botswana, and that Zimbabwe touches Namibia. As these kinds of disputes can last a long time in international courts, Zambia and Botswana sidestepped this nonsense by curving the bridge over Namibia, which was happy to accede to the plan. The curvature added US $10 million to the cost of the bridge, so that it ended up costing US $260 million. When the bridge was opened in 2022, the president of Zimbabwe shamelessly appeared at the ceremony, declaring that Zimbabwe would be part of the bridge, exactly how, we do not know.
@mandandi
@mandandi 6 ай бұрын
Mostly true. The bridge doesn't pass over Namibian territory, though. It was initially going through a small section of Zim territory, but moving it curved around Zim and connected Bots with Zam directly.
@MzeewaUjiji
@MzeewaUjiji 6 ай бұрын
@@mandandi The bridge passes over the Caprivi Strip. Botswana and Zambia requested and obtained permission from Namibia to do this. According to Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana do not have a common border. Therefore if the bridge was not passing on what is unquestionably Namibian territory, then it would necessarily pass over Zimbabwe. This is something Zimbabwe took to the UN. In matters like this, the UN take years, sometimes decades, to decide the issue, if at all. This is why Botswana and Zambia decided to curve the bridge over Namibia. As far as they are concerned Zambia and Botswana have a border with each other, and this matter will now have to play out in whatever fora Zimbabwe has decided to drag it to
@mandandi
@mandandi 6 ай бұрын
@user-bk6gx7sg3j There is a border between Bots and Zam, despite what Zim says. This is just political posturing. 🙄 Asking permission from Nam was diplomatic, not because Nam territory was encroached by the bridge. This case is similar to when Nam claimed that Sedudu island didn't belong to Bots back then. Zim sided with Nam then, despite all the available documents proving the island belonged to Bots. Bots won that case. I notice that you keep saying Zim says there is no border between Zam and Bots. Guess what? The documents show that there is a border between Bots and Zam. Zim doesn't know Bots borders better than Bots does, just as it was proved with Nam over the Sedudu case. Clearly, you don't know Bots borders either. Hence, you keep saying Zim says this, or Zim says that. Zim does not keep documents of Bots borders, Bots does. It seems you would rather believe hearsay than consult existing documents. The original agreement for the bridge involved the 3 countries. The shortest route for the bridge would have gone through Zim. That changed when Zim pulled out.
@MzeewaUjiji
@MzeewaUjiji 6 ай бұрын
@@mandandi You misunderstand me. I am not supporting Zimbabwe's self serving nonsense. Of Zambia, my country, has a border with Botswana. It is clear however, that Zimbabwe harbours a possessiveness toward Zambia. In the 1980s, Zambia and Botswana secured funding to extend the electric power for Zambia to Botswana. Behind their backs, Zimbabwe went to Europeans funding the project, and convinced them to transit the power through Zimbabwe. They were able to get away with it, because politically, white people in Europe were treating them well, as they were still letting white people keep the land they had stolen from black people.
@mandandi
@mandandi 6 ай бұрын
@@MzeewaUjiji I see. These cases normally require the intervention of the International Court of Justice to resolve them. Zim was not encroached. I doubt Nam has documents proving a border with Zim.

Just sometime back, 02 days ago, a Kenyan you tuber "Kishmy World" has been denied a visa to Mozambique, an African country, its very sad for Africa, yet Europeans continue to roam around freely. Nelson Asiimwe Uganda

where ever you go make sure you have enough time for Ro to fly back to whatever country to have the baby. The airlines depending on which one you choose have requirements on how far along you are in pregnancy to allow you to fly. So plan your trip accordingly. Enjoy your videos and bless you both.
