African women abroad stop calling police to remove your husband from the home over any little argument! Its disgraceful and damaging to your children.

James Johnson don't worry my dear, I brought a man and immediately he got paper, he started running me down, calling me all sorts of names, finally he ran away and I suffered emotional wounds and I cried bitterly, I gave him over to God and after years he died by car accident and the only person to sign for his burial was me, I bluntly refused, he was finally burnt, and all his properties were handed over to me and above all passport and resident permit were all given back to me. The police has the copies though. I went to see him in the mortuary and my only question to his corpse was So You Can Die?

My sister I just found your channel and have subscribed. You make plenty of valid points here that I agree with especially the part about children and how their parents' behaviour will influence them. What I have come to realise in my short time on this earth is that everything a woman does is essentially a reaction to some male she has encountered in her life, so in essence, men do not realise that a lot of what is wrong in this world can be directly linked back to them. A man who fails to treat his wife, specifically the mother of his children well, will only find disaster along the way. Although men are the "leaders" in many, many societies across the world, it is women who spend the most time with children so if you as a man go around abusing and neglecting the women in your life (that you chose to have in your life), that will affect her and in turn affect your children (who will one day become hurt/ angry/ neglected adults). Many women become the way they do (mean, disrespectful, angry, etc.) simply out of fear. Fear of the known and the unknown. Far too many of us have witnessed how our fathers and uncles and cousins and brothers have treated our mothers, aunties and sister's. We have seen the helplessness of these women and as result we have become afraid. In an attempt to put in preventative measures, we have become essentially self-destructive. Too many people out here are hurt, heartbroken and afraid and have adopted this "better him/ her than me mentality". We need to learn to love again and the true meaning of kindness.

Just Emeka I have no issue with being treated respectfully by men in my family, home or outsiders. I standby my intial comment. The men must learn that being a leader in their family, home and community is earned not owed. In most cases a woman will adjust to the man if he carries himself like gentlman and a good husband. If he were to lead by example, layout a clear family construct, keep his commitments, maintain a positive attitude, listen to the needs of his family, base his decsions on what is best for the family and make an effort to communicate his love the the vast majority of theses issues would not exist. Their wives and family would follow them to the ends of the earth.

I just listened to this footage until I rented a space in a "salon". What I saw and what I heard shocked me. What I mean is never seen or heard things like this before. The owner and her friends tried to force me to be like them. All they know is illicit sex having kids with different fathers parties, aso ebi etc. Complex lifestyle. It is by the Grace of God I resisted. I was going to university to improve my life and career. I was lambasted because of who I am. They are jealous and gossips. One day they level their verbal attack at me. That was how I saw the obvious huge gap between them and I. They realise I am levelling up, they are on ground 0.I did not stay long there. I left the salon unexpectedly. Went on to have a fabulous life, while their lives has gone downhill. Sister keep up the good work and and tell them the hard truth.

This brings back memories not in my life but in the life of my great or what you would call best friend at the time. It was in March 2003 I was in Ghana on vacation when he called me from Virginia and said the lady he had gone home to marry had gotten a visa and he didn't have money for a ticket if I could lend him money. I bought a ticket for her and we flew on the same flight back to Dulles. She got pregnant right away (lol year my homeboy was not playing around) and within the span of three years they had two kids. She didn't work for the first four or so years because of childcare and pregnancy etc. Anyway shortly after that her family poisoned her mind that her husband doesn't want her success hence for over four years she has not worked to send them money and only getting pregnant. This was a guy who shared everything he had with her and put her first, I know because I was single at the time and used to spend weekends with them. Things got bad between them and during arguments she would call the cops. Meanwhile she knew my homeboy was undocumented. I was surprised because when I met her in Ghana she was so docile I was even wondering if this woman could talk. Ultimately the marriage fell apart and I heard she was in a financial mess and "giving it up" to some friends of my homeboy just to make ends meet. Sad sad story. There are two or three sides to every story however I think unless you life is at risk, you don't call law enforcement on your undocumented partner. It's a no no in the immigrant community.

No need for the insulting language. You may have anger issues. I spelled it out clearly that if your life is at risk it is appropriate to call the cops. Sorry if some man hurt you and filled you with all this rage. You can go ahead and be miserable and stereotype all men and be filled with bitterness. It's your problem, not mine. You are doing good. However, let me state some characteristics of a typical Nigerian marriage: 1. Only the husband deserves to be happy 2. A husband can commit adultery, a woman cannot 3. Only the wives do school runs 4. Wives work carrying their babies 5. Husbands can beat their wives ( no law on this in Nigeria) 6 . Husbands marry as many wives as they want 7. Nigerian men please outsiders more than their immediate family 8. You find wives moving from church to church praying for a stable home while the husbands are outside misbehaving Etc No woman would want to destroy her home after getting married l believe and no 2 marriages are the same. The one who is wearing the shoe knows where it hurts. Sometimes, I think marriage is a hindrance to many women because a lot of single women do better. One major cause of marital conflicts is to me our family background particularly the men. Love was never expressed in their presence. The only time a woman is to be loved is when they are trying to gain her attention. After that, no more. Now, a woman who has been passing through a lot because of the nature of her society suddenly sees herself in an environment where she can express herself. What do you expect? Pls there are no marriages in heaven. People should find out what works for them and not to live another person’s life. This can be very frustrating and depressing. Nigerians love to please others in issues concerning their personal lives and very mindful of what people would think or say. It is better to report than to loose a life. Afterall na report. Getting another wife is as easy as ABC for Nigerian men.

Darling you have an excellent point however, you’ve made lots of unfair ones too like talking abt not calling police & women being like Europeans or Americans. Here we have a platform to report any kind of abuse that doesn’t exist in Africa. In Africa lots of women are left for abuse & their motherly & women rights are taken. Not even your own mother stands up for you in Africa bc of the value they have for marriage. Bad tradition & mail hierarchy needs to stop when it comes to abusing women & children so let’s not act like the men are good perfect & women feel civilized to call police on them.

Bridget my daughter, you can say that again, the African women, especially most of our Nigerian women living in abroad have no shame again. They have grown very big wing more than the men. Marriage is not easy, the devil creeps in all the time. I have been divorced about 7 months now. My husband was physically abusive but mostly emotionally abusive. With all that I still hung in there thinking Everything will turn around. Of course it got worse because I was unable to conceive. Come to find out, he did the same thing to me that he did to the mother of his son. Leaving her for me though he was not married to her. Family did not allow it. Come to find out, he did really love her but listened to family. He went back to her abandoned me emotionally, sexually and everything. I had no choice but to divorce him and let him go back to his first love, his baby mama. I think if you truly love your partner, you turn their hearts around with prayers. But if you are being abused, it's ok to separate. And if your partner says it's over, there is pretty much nothing you can do. PRAYER IS THE KEY 🙏😇

Men should think well before bringing an African woman to Oyinboland. Personally my lesson will makes any person cry. My suppose wife I brought to Oyinboland nearly kill me. I hade to run to the hospital (She slapped me and hit me with a flower vas on the head, trying to save my head cut my wrist) to get my hand stich when she call the police on me. I spend 76 hours behind bar. She was on telephone 27 hours a day talking to men in Ireland, London, Nigeria and so on while the food is burning on the stove. She was 48 while I am 57 and we dated for almost 13 years before I brought her to Oyinbo land. The prosecutor order my release and I was compensated with 24000 kronor with a letter of apology from the state. Since then, I remain alone. No woman, no cry

Sister you are speaking the truth. The Jamaican community is the same. And I am not saying all Jamaicans if you get my drift. But yes 100 percent right.

Husband treat your wife the way you want her to treat you. There's no problem in a man being the head of the house but that doesn't mean that he should treat his wife like trash. Marriage is a partnership; each has different roles to play. A wife's role is equally as important as that of her husband.

Listening attentively. Lots of good advice about developing your family and working with husband. Just, the word submissive to husband. No, work with husband and both show respect to each other.

lavidavi86 Yes she said that and she is not the first person saying that what most people will pick out of all she says is don't/ stop calling police for your husband which if you agree with me so will the family advice... I have seen so many women leaving in pain and agony and still pretend that the are Oki and at the end they end up paying with they lives

I hate that calling of the police to their husbands it so so annoying, we can't do that nonsense back home. I have a friend who did that; she don't speak to me now cos I told her the truth.

On this matter people are quick to argue for or against women or men. God’s verdict is final and people will reap whatever they sow. Period.

Abroad is not the same as back home. Theirs two sides to a story. Their should be trust and communication once the trust is broken, it takes the grace of God. Of you are not in the shoe you can't say a thing.
