I have also lived and worked in Kenya...I remember visiting Mombassa for Christmas , this is about 30 years ago and my friend and I were the only blacks in one particular hotel. I'm not too far from the Palisades fire. Cars were being bulldozed to make way for Fire trucks and equipment. I passed by the Eaton Canyon Fire (Pasadena/Altadena) and smoke covered the Entire Pasadena area. It looked like dusk but it was the morning time. I passed by another fire prior to that, but it was under control. Now, there is a 4th fire in Acton, CA, which is also in LA County. All four so far are in LA County. The Eaton Canyon fire has claimed two lives so far and burned down an elementary school. Both Eaton and Palisades fires are over 10k acres.

A lot to unpack; but I hypothesize that the Ghanaian and African people at large lose in these situations in that these people do better than the citizens in Africa: businesses, distribution, linking with the countries they come from while excluding natural born citizens from that access; opening private schools and excluding African citizens from going etc. The people born in Ghana, SA, Kenya, etc. should be doing the best, not the immigrants. Please I reside in America but a native of Ghana I advise my fellow blacks in America to cease the opportunity available in the continent to invest or as retirees to spend the rest of the remaining years. There are plenty of opportunities they can take advantage of instead of being in America and complaining about not being treated fairly. You are misinformed. Many non-black residents have had to wait over 20 years to get their citizenship. It is not easy for them. They do not have the advantage that blacks(FBA) have. The Right of Abode Act(2001). The citizenship celebration you've just seen is not unique. It was not granted under presidential power. These are people who have worked to qualify for citizenship. Some haven waited for more than 10 years and applied through the normal citizenship process. This type of ceremony happens regularly in Ghana. They are not publicized. This has become known only because it happened soon after the recent 524 citizenship granted to FBAs under presidential power. In this video, I know one of the recipients who has lived in Ghana over 30 years and has two Ghanaian children who are in their 20s. They have earned their citizenship the same way I earned my US citizenship as a Ghanaian. Please get educated and not misinform the public.

Phil, we know you dislike the sisters. However, you should have some fact-checkers. Mayor Karen Bass was in Ghana (you should appreciate that). For a political event before the fires broke out. The Mayor left Ghana on January 7, 2025, but she couldn't get an earlier flight due to the logistics of international travel. Viewers always fact-check. Certain people have an agenda.
