There is more to this story... Zambia freed South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Angola from colonialism. Zambia was the single most important country in the freedom of Southern Africa. Lets just start there. It is possible that Naledi Pandor may be concerned about the deal Zambia is about to sign. The question is why the government of South Africa would broach this issue privately with Zambia. I believe that South Africa has a much bigger concern about something that is going on in Zambia, and hence this open criticism. The bonds between Zambia and South Africa are stronger than the bonds between South Africa and any other country in Southern Africa. The only country in Africa that comes this close to South Africa is Tanzania, for exactly the same reason that Zambia and South Africa are so close.... I trust South Africa on this...

The freedom of these countries made it possible for South Africa to be free. Without Zambia, we might still be fighting for the freedom of Angola, Mozambique and Zimbabwe today. How does this relate to South Africa. The war of liberation of South was not fought in South Africa. It was fought in Angola mainly, where 1.4 million people, 10 000 of them young Cubans, lost their lives to free South Africa. Mozambique contributed another million. Zambia a couple of thousand killed in Western and Southern Province. There was no war of liberation of South Africa. The last war South Africans fought againt white people, in 1906, which led to death and disappearance of the Zulu chied, Baambata kaMacinza. The civil disobedience in South Africa has not eve garnered black South Africans the right to live in the all-white enclave of Orania. Unfortunately, Angola and Mozambique are unable to go and sort out the Boers in Orania So, I was right. Zambia freed South Africa. Just say "thank you" and leave it at that

Industrial power comes from nuclear power plants, coal power plants and oil-driven power plants. What Dr. Pandor is saying, is that before they sign an agreement, the UK MUST agree to building the refinement factories inside Zambia so that if the UK wants cobalt or cobalt products, they have to purchase the market value of the refined product (value added refined cobalt). Simply exporting raw cobalt is cheap and exploitative. I just wanted to clarify that point. Everyone I talk to here understands this, but neither Hichilema nor Lungu seem to or want to.
