This was a very awesome video AT! I really enjoyed the engagement with the amazing people of Cape Town. I prefer both random tours because you're like free roaming and more flexible, spontaneous you even met your fans, and with a tour guide I guess I'd say it's a bit restricted, but at least you'll get more accurate information about the place you're touring and you will get the most out of the place in terms of the places of interest/ historical sites etc 😊, so both types of tours, I'd say have their pros and cons.

There's no other Country in Africa that is harshly judged like South Africa . I visited different provinces and i really enjoyed the country especially upcountry : Joburg is abit chaotic just like any other commercial City. Honestly speaking SA is more developed i don't know why is not classified as First World. Better than most European countries
@donaldmacdonald9993
@donaldmacdonald9993 2 жыл бұрын
Mashariki it's true my brother. European economies are struggling because the service sector is not doing very well. Remember a huge chunk of manufacturing is done in China and south east Asia. Most of them rely heavily on tourism, so to eliminate competition they have to bad mouth excellent african tourist destinations. The second reason is that they don't want their post colonial generation to see first hand progress on the continent as they may question the old racial stereotypes and the pervasive racist narrative. Lastly, they don't want others to be exposed to Africa and its variety of opportunities and attendant resources. That's just my take on this.

South Africa is a First World country. The term "first world" here is not the best choice in this specific case. You should use, Developing, Newly Industrialised, and Developed to describe 1st World, 3rd World Countries. First World and 3rd World are outdated and linked to what happed post world war 2 and the cold war.
@donaldmacdonald9993
@donaldmacdonald9993 2 жыл бұрын
@@MosesMatsepane I'm glad my homie you corrected yourself. Let's desist from using the colonial discourse because every country is developing. Covid 19 has exposed the lies that these European countries are developed, their health infrastructurr and political systems could not cope with this moderate pandemic. Thanks to social media we can see the rate of homelessness and hopelessness in the 🇺🇸 and the rest of Europe. Poverty levels are rising annually and most of their citizens are dying from preventable diseases such as diabetes and heart ❤ disease. The current generation does not want to have children because of high cost of living and opioid pandemic currently ravaging their communities. The post colonial West is declining because of other rising powers and unfolding disunity among the west. Let's just pray they don't take the world with as they usually do when they do not get their way. The only thing that is saving them is the strength of their fiat currencies that are not backed by anything.

African Tigress, South Africa has two parliaments, the one you saw in Cape Town is the legislature used by MPs when parliament is in session, mostly where the law is made. The other parliament is in Pretoria which is the administrative part where the President and his cabinet ministers are based. So basically laws are passed in Cape Town but all the execution and planning of the implementation is done in Pretoria. When the President and his cabinet have to account they have to go to Cape Town parliament where the national assembly is.
@duboisnic

There is no parliament in Pretoria. The only parliament is in Cape Town. Various ministries, embassies and administrative offices are in Pretoria but they are not a "parliament" where MPs pass legislation - that is only done in Cape Town.

I'm Kenyan... having nostalgia as you're going through all those streets. Got lots of memories that I had when I lived in CT. One time I was gifted with a pair of nike basketball sneakers, that weekend I went out on long street, was out all night, in the morning, I went to the gardens to take a nap, removed the sneakers so that I could nap comfortably. Tied the shoelace around my ankle so that the shoes don't get stolen. Had a nice nap, but woke up and the shoes were gone. Went home with socks 😂 Imagine trekking to the train station with socks 😂. Home was Observatory. Then another time I was around the Museum in the Gardens, Then the former president Thabo Mbeki was exiting the museum, managed to get a photo with him, then I lost the photo! After a few weeks, my friend the owner of the camera left the country, yet I hadn't downloaded the photo. We had not exchanged contacts, he left to his country, and that was it.

Love your inquisitive. mentality and exploring Capetown. The town is stupendous. The locals were immensely amicable, ebullient, and warm. African Tigress you make me want to go to SA/ Capetown. Additionally- I love the Parliament opulent architecture, Nelson Mandela Stature and brief his/herstory, beautiful and spacious Company Park, Flower milieu, African Market.

South Africa is beautiful country especially if you visit with open mind and with 0% entitlement in your head, majority of African who visit south Africa with the mentality of entitlement and behave like south African owe them something end up been disappointed, lot of historical economic and social problem in SA however majority of them don't run away from home , they stay home and face their challenge, I don't think if you go to Nairobi street you can find south African selling in the streets, however go to Pretoria street you will find lot of Kenyan , what can be reasons behind this ,?I think some also link with how south African they been treated in African countries during apartheid, I was embarrassed when I find out that Ghana for example, expel and beat south Africans ( during apartheid in SA) in their country around 60s... source (Dark days in Ghana K w a m e N k r u m a h page 139), today you will hear someone from African country claiming SA, saying we're African... really ??? when it suit you

Thanks for this comment, I have been wondering why people who were in exile within the continent never share their experiences a lot. The most that is spoken about is Tanzania, I guess that is where most experienced a decent welcome.

@@walkwithorr even Tanzania itself is not clean, they expel south African in Tanzania and they move to Zambia, the reason why they end up in Zambia is because they been kick out in Tanzania, I think for many senior south African politicians they don't talk much on how they been treated in African countries because now is unhelpful to talk about the past, should they talk about arrest of chris hani imprisonment in Botswana ?, Malawi relationship with apartheid government ? Nigerian students who protests against south Africans student in University and pour acid to one student and end up dead ? , Kenya that never help ?, Zimbabwe that expel south African ?...list go on and on, when will the bitter end for south African ?, I think they choose to forgive and tell themselves that this people owe us nothing, we must just appreciate every little thing they did for us and not bring the past because we will continue angry for long time

This video is definitely the positive side of Cape Town with clean streets and friendly people. It looks very much like Namibia because both Cape Town and Namibia were one country before. However, Cape Town is segregated and it's dangerous in some areas. There is also very high unemployment and Cape Town is different in its diversity and government. Cape Town is also very expensive and it is not like the rest of South Africa. No city is perfect though.
