No need to be upset 😊 as there is so much ignorance about Africa by the rest of the world and Africans for that matter. South Africa has been occupied by Westerners & developed for over 300 years - hence the high level of development. Africans have to be very honest about the differences between developments in Africa as a whole. The longer the white people have occupied the region, the more highly developed it will be. That says a lot 😉.

My African brothers and sisters our continent has everything under ther sun, from the precious stones to natural wonders. All we need is self belief, peace and love...lets focuse more on keeping this motherland a safe place to live in and well maintaned i mean good infrastructure. IT ALL STARTS WITH GOOD HOUSE KEEPING and then investment in Africa will follow which will lead to a more prosperous Africa.

@Chichi Efe it's not old money, in fact it's new money. That place is mostly owned to be rented out for tourism. Some Black South Africans, some politicians from across the Continent who embezzled funds, Europeans own properties there in Camps Bay and Clifton Beach. Old money is in Stellenbosch, Bishop Court, Rondebosch and the Wineries.

Its cheaper for them when in Africa to build like that. Its that mindset that anything good in Africa looks like europe. Whilst we are trying to change the african narrative please dont keep saying its like europe when its in Africa. Like you say its to do with the monry not Europe. I wanted to hear more about this Cape-Dutch architecture and the Victorian-Georgian architecture. It's very fascinating. Cape Town houses don't look like any other houses I have seen. And I have also noticed that new-builds in Zimbabwe are borrowing heavily from this SA architecture. When Mr Zim was showing you the old (colonial) houses in Zimbabwe and the new houses in the new suburbs of Zimbabwe, he mentioned that they are different. The new houses in Zimbabwe, together with the durawalls/perimeter walls now borrow heavily from South African architecture. Even the idea of putting floor tiles the whole house, it rarely happened in Zimbabwe in the 80s and 90s. Only the kitchen and bathrooms were usually floor-tiled. The rest of the house had concrete screed and then carpet on top. In the townships, not even the kitchens were tiled - it was concrete screed all over - check out Makandiwa's house.
