This is one of my truly all-time favorites of any song I have heard. I think of my wife and her love for our 14 year old who has autism and how hard my wife works to preserve her health. I mean I do as well. But, what I observe is total, unconditional love, day in and day out.

The man singing the lead wrote this song for the love of his life. Skylark ( Canadian music group) sung this before New Birth ( the American music group who everyone thought sang Wildflower).

The Skylark lead singer was singing about a woman he loved and has now died. Sleep's the only freedom that she knows [ she has died / death is the sleep that he's singing about.

It's been far too long since I have heard this beautiful song, Faye, so I need to say thank you!! Great reaction, too - I really enjoy watching you feel the music! For another beautiful song, why not try "The Air That I Breathe" by The Hollies? Happy New Year!

A beautiful song. ❤❤❤❤ My interpretation of the lyrics kind of takes a twist to the minds of the songwriters. I imagine the empathy and understanding that came from their minds. She, Wildflower, came from some harsh personal history of a mysterious pain and hurt. Something she still pays for today, inside, though she never owed those feelings to anyone, they still come out of her. The writers imagine her in such a loving way. Makes me think of all people who deserve love, which is everyone. Now, since I feel like stalling on some chores I gotta do. 😁 Just a detour. The title Wildflowers reminds me of hiking in wooded areas. State parks, etc, and coming upon patches of flowering perennial plants that shouldn't be there. A great sign one has found the location of an old, abandoned, homestead. In my parts of the world, these homes were made of logs and rotted away. Leaving little but some fallen stones marking the location of the fireplace. Perhaps, some overgrown patches or mounds in the shape of a building, usually covered in thorn bushes. Most people don't know how to look for the signs of these places. I like finding them. I like the surviving flowers telling of lives that lived there. OK, chore time.

Hope you finished doing chores 😜. Thanks for sharing this interpretation and I have never thought of plants telling the history of people that lived in certain locations, thanks for enlightening me on this and now when I go hiking I will be remembering this statement. Also thanks for your interpretation, I love it.
